Does everyone expect a lot of the same djs to be in Toronto that weekend, too? I would kill for Menno to be up there with a bunch of others from that lineup. Seems pretty likely considering the NYC event takes place during the day. I prefer "club" events, but this festival's lineup is outta control, though I'd expect the regular festival-like shorter type sets.
It really depends, I guess, on LOL's lineup this year, as well as events the surrounding days/nights in each city. I'd expect some pretty good events to pop up in NYC during those evenings. It would be a damn shame to stop partying at 11pm, haha. From an outsider's perspective, it's really hard to beat that weekend in Toronto with LOL, footwork, circa, boat parties, etc. The fact that you guys can keep things going up there all day/night/day is a big plus. |

Wont happen. NYC will have events at pacha, sullivan room, Cielo, Studio B, Love, Water Taxi Beach, etc etc etc......There are ALWAYS a ton of after parties for the outdoor events (look at all the options we have for the PVD and Armin outdoor events every year.....) ;) |

LOL!!! that is really funny, considering you cant walk in ANY direction for more than 10 blocks without running into SOME sort of subway!! lol you must have been walking RIGHT next to the subway line, just parallel to it!! :tongue2 whoops!
ps; September has some very cool days, even in the beginning. I am hoping for one of those!! (even more so, I am hoping for no RAIN!!) |
harlem was nice at that time of night anyways lol. |

lol it depends on WHICH part of harlem. I live in Harlem right next to Columbia University and I love it.....but central, and even more so, east/spanish harlem, is ROUGH!!! :nervous:
lol doesnt scare me anymore (if you knew what kinda place I work in daily), but for tourists, it probably not the best idea to be in east harlem. :tongue2 |

Deadmau5 and Nathan Fake added to lineup :)
smuncky: keep to Fredrick Douglass and WEST and you are ok. East (ie 7th ave/adam clayton) is where things start taking a turn for the worst. and nyc turns QUICKLY if you have ever been here (for example, I live on 120th and Morningside, which I LOVE, but go over 3 blocks and its tough.....)

just wondered what you thought of that area since i stayed there back in february.
didn't really stay there that long to get an accurate impression of it, but in the morning it felt fine and the surrounding buildings looked to be in good shape. it seemed like what i read about that area being slowly gentrified was true.
however, i felt a bit uncomfortable trying to catch a cab around 9pm. very few people on the streets and they weren't the classiest lets just say. |
