we have to understand that although africa is rich in resources but more times than not those resources are controlled by their old colonial "masters." the leaders are too busy taking kickbacks from these western countries to give two s about what happens to most of the country. africans have also been brainwashed for so long and think what is told to them is the right way of things. there needs to be a point where africa says thanks but no thanks. the overwhelming issue with food aide is the water issue. can't grow anything without it and more and more of the continent is becoming desert and then there is all the water being contaminated. some oil companies are slow to fix ruptured pipes which in turn contaminate the water which directly impacts the vegitation in the areas and the survival of animals leaving people with virtually no food to harvest or hunt.

then there is that whole tribalist bull which slows everything down. how can you get a country together when you not so secretly hate entire groups of people who just happen to be your neighbors?

meh africa is a mess...

people underestimate the education in africa. it's much tougher than it is here for one and extremely competitive. the violence is due to tribalism and competition of resources. very educated people engage in this craziness too...

Krypton, what would you do to sort out this mess?

Unless they are in some civil war, I'd cut off the aide. We'v essentially turned large parts of Africa into welfare projects and now they'r dependent on foreign aide. Their economies are wrecked because they can't compete against free products coming from outside.

You might not know this but we're saving Africa up right now. At least that is what my mentor that works for the DoD told me.
