Damn, and I really thought we two could have a future... :sadgreen: |

Even if the person absolutely hated dance music with a passion - I cannot say that I would rule out dating them. Completely disregarding someone because of their taste in music (to me) seems petty and ridiculous. I know that (for myself and my friends) none of us have exactly the same tast in music as we had ten years ago. Even five years ago. So would I write off someone because of a genre of music I like RIGHT NOW? No.
There's a lot more to life than just music (yes, I said it), and I (me) am not going to base an entire relationship off of taste of music. I have work, friends, hobbies, and a whole life outside of music - if the person hated my job, friends, hobbies, AND music - well then yes, I would have to say we couldn't withstand a relationship. |

This is a question of pride, I think. People live in their little bubbles of interests, and anything outside of said bubble might just ruin their whole little world. No, it's really not fun being with somebody who is your complete antagonist - but that's not the question here. What is actually of interest here is: are you so self-absorbed, so self-involved in your little niche, it prohibits you from socializing with people who are slightly unlike yourself? So proud of your interests (which will change as you age, as squirrelly already brought up) that it hinders your ability to form relationships with others? Of course it's hard to say for certain what you've missed - if anything - but does it not seem imperative that certain people could be alienating a lot of personal development and worthwhile social situations merely because they are so fixated on a single subculture?
Though I think a few of you have effectively answered this. |

| If the girl truly hates your music that means, she will not be going to clubs, festies, raves etc... leaving you to run around by yourself or with homies consistently, as in she WON'T even go to such an event. lol |
