That's ridiculous.
You all DO realize that your tastes in life and in music can change and develop over the years, right? To not date someone because they do not like one specific genre of music is retarded. Chances are, there's a middle ground where you find music both of you like. And you never know if someone could end up liking something further down the road. You should be focusing on whether or not this person makes you laugh and if you have fun together - not OMG they don't like electronic!!!!!!!!!!!!! And sometimes, the fact that two people DON'T like ALL of the same things - makes things interesting and fun, and gives each person the chance to learn about what the other likes.

+1
I remember being like that in my plur days. Now I don't really care what they're into anymore, so long as it's not Natasha Bedingfield. |

| Yeah, I've never had a relationship work out that was based almost entirely on a common interest. Well, perhaps if that interest was sex, but those never seem to last long, which may or may not fit your definition of "work out". :p |

| It just so happens that my hubby turned out to be a DJ, which is great cause every now and again he throws some sick beats down while we lounge around the house. But that is not what drew us together at all.. in fact, 99% of the time we don't even listen to any electronic music. Neither of us really care anymore what the newest, sickest track happens to be... we just like to have a good time. |

Yeah, I've never quite understood peoples' fixation with finding a mate just like themselves. I understand that common interests are important to a degree, but I dunno, I really, really would not like to find somebody exactly like myself whom I do absolutely everything with. It seems just as important to me that somebody has as many differences as similarities - I'd feel totally smothered otherwise.
And really, in the end, all that matters is finding somebody to empathize with and fulfill common sexual desires. We're all animals and souls aren't even real, so why the vain endeavor for some sense of perfection in another person? |

| The trick is really to have a wide range of very diversified interests, not just be into EDM and absolutely nothing else. |

| Yeah, being a boring dullard sure doesn't help. Though it sure does seem to grease the wheels of reproduction. |
