FYI, you don't need to learn German to work for a German company or frequently travel to Germany and Europe for work.

I don't think anyone said anything about NEEDING. But WANTING and learning out of respect are a sign of a dedicated employee.

Will your job improve because you learned the parent company's native language? Most likely not. In fact, tier 1 German companies are proficient in English. You might impress the German waitress at the bar, but in terms of career changing skill, there are better use of your time.
