ok, just a question here - do you have any idea how many different varieties of herpes there are? Most of them are treatable/curable, and then on top of that - not transferable to kids. Just sayin'.

No - it's just like "hey - Jay made a dig at me, let me pull out the EXACT SAME JOKE THAT EVERYONE ELSE SAYS and crack about him having herpes"

Can we get some new material, please?

two types. they're treatable but not curable. once you get the virus it's with you for life. and yes, they can be transferred to your baby if you have genital herpes.

and i'm pretty sure Jay had genital warts, not herpes. :p

Herpes is not curable. And you CAN transfer it to kids. If the mother has an outbreak during pregnancy/labour, she may have to opt for a c section.

edit: didn't see Myra's post. :o

We graduate "highschool" (we don't have the same system) usually at the age of 18, going for 19.

So it was spring of 2002 for me.

Started Uni 2003, should have graduated 2008, but worked and stuff. Gonna finish it this year I hope!

I thought there were a zillion different types of HPV/herpes/warts/whatever?

Damn TV commercials, lying to me!

I stand corrected if I'm wrong, but I could of sworn that there are more than just two types.

there are over 100 types of HPV (which causes cervical cancer and genital warts). herpes is an entirely different virus, with only two types.

didn't you ever pay attention in sex ed or were you too busy sexin the guys up under the bleachers? :p

Those commercials are for treatments, not cures. Yes, technically there are more than 2 type of herpes...but it's broken down into type 1 (which infects areas above the waist, involving the gums/mouth, skin, upper respiratory tract, and central nervous system), and type 2 (which infects the genital tract and perineum).
