John 00 Fleming & Christopher Lawrence play some good progressive psy trance if that's what you are after. They did a mix comp together a while back, think it was called Global Trance Grooves, which is also John's radio show if I'm not wrong. Worth checking out anyway, good stuff.

Psy will always have a special place in my heart, thanks to a lot of early/mid 90's acts that have already been mentioned in this thread :)

Couple of old fav's;

As I always say, it took a nosedive into the mud after X-Dream made Radio and everyone wanted to sound like them. After that it's pretty much been in the same poor state creatively as any other genre of electronic music that becomes immensely popular.

Blue Room Released still released some of the best electronic music in the world, though. This, this, this and this are all brilliant.

edit: Might as well use this opportunity to plug my Goa/acid techno mix.

everytime i hear this stuff played live i think to myself "there is not enough drugs on the planet that would make me enjoy this"...

Then you probably haven't heard proper psy.. Or done proper drugs.

edit: Norway says hello.

it doesnt take much, just a subtle amount of acid, shrooms, or cactus is all it takes for it just come alive and sound so intense. friends of mine make this kind of music and play it live, like at this party (thats them playing it live, to the right and behind of my camera):

they make psy/goa thats different from everything else i heard, its more housy and slower.

I actually like the slower goa and psy stuff. Oakenfold's goa Essential Mix starts off around 130 BPM and the first track (Grace - "Skin on Skin" Orange Mix) is one of my favorite trance tunes of all time.

Love it. Especially the new-style goa thats been coming out of Suntrip et al. A lot of the old stuff is very good too, although a lot of it sounds extremely dated now.
Magnus
I love it although lately its getting harder and harder to find the type of fullon sound that I love. Some hate that sound and call it cheesy but I personally love it.

I like Suntrip though i think some of the music that comes out of there plays so close to all the old goa conventions it becomes a little silly, really. It's a bit like they're reciting rather than creating something original.

LoveHate
i cant with it.

I agree, there is a lot of great stuff. This is probably my favorite Goa song. Great for dancing to also, and thats all I really care about
