i got linked to a video on facebook the other day, it was an indian guy committing suicide by electrocuting himself on top of a train.
Didn't know what was happening until he actually electrocuted himself. Then i was like :wtf: and watched it again... then i was like meh |

I don't know what gets people to do this. I read a post on a forum that mentioned that people who grow up very secluded end up developing a fascination in these types of online media; I don't remember why.
My parents did shelter me a lot as a child, so much as that I ended up having to buy a Playstation2, sneak it into the house, and set it up/tear it down while my parents were away shopping(this was when I was 16 and loved racing games).
I came across some of these videos by accident on Kazaa (purposely mislabeled, I was expecting BritneySexTape.Avi) and wasn't appalled by them as much as my friends. I've seen a lot of this junk over the years and have been distancing myself from it over the past 2.
I don't think anyone gets a hardon from watching it, nor do I think anyone who views this regularly is attempting to receive gratification. I believe it is just curiosity for a minority of people who have grown up in a certain fashion so that they want to see what "life" has to offer, no matter who brutal it be.
I can't believe the lawyers of the murderers are actually appealing the decision. Reduce a life sentence (which in my eyes is incredibly lenient) for these sick people? Ugh, sick people come in hoodies and in 3-piece suits. What a world! |

It's pointless, these guys are worth as much as a human with their entire head smashed in because they obviously suffer from an extreme mental illness and their ability to do this with as little remorse as they've shown is proof positive that rehabilitation is next to impossible.
Execution is an easy way out for some people, I'd rather someone live with the extreme psychological guilt of what they've done until they expire. But some will disagree with that and claim that we're just putting a roof and food into the mouths of ing maniacs. |

I think they're so detached from guilt and reality that living with what they did is just a sick kick for them. Better to bludgeon them slowly with a doctor's assistance to keep them alive as long as possible, so they actually feel a fraction of the pain they have caused others. |
