Funny how most of the people in that thread, who have huge variation in their musical tastes, agreed with my assessment, isn't it? But in your mind they're all part of some "hive," right, and so their opinions aren't worth anything. Just get over yourself, please. You've been here all of half a year and you're already making these narcissistic pronouncements from on high and expecting people to take them seriously.
:stongue:
...you have the woscar's and the wotyzoids of the world agreeing with you, while the music itself, crowds by the hundreds of thousands disagree with you. As well as countless established DJs, one of which being Hernan Cattaneo who signed the music to his label as the first release. I mean we went through a decent song and dance, and you came up with very poor reasoning for your opinions. Just because a few other people who often create hive minds agree with you, is not adding any credibility.

Yeah, and crowds by the millions listen to 50 Cent and Soulja Boy. What the does that matter?
My "reasoning" was that the melodies bored me, the sounds bored me, the arrangement bored me, and the buildup bored me -- because all of those things as used in the "Moon" tracks had been done much better and more creatively by many prog artists before Howells, some of whom I listed in the second page of the thread. You accused me of "vagueness" and then went on to say even vaguer things like "the groove and melodies here are quite good," LOL.
This isn't set theory or physics, there isn't any way of demonstrating that your opinion and yours alone is the logical and correct one. So please, get over yourself with the condescending bit about "poor reasoning." Go easier on the verbal diarrhea.

You make it painfully clear that your taste, music and opinions are above us all. And since you called Oscar out for his poor taste, poor vision and ty reasoning, I would like to hear what your definition of good taste, vision, and spot-on reasoning is.
Why did I suggest you prove yourself with a mix?
We all know you can write, but you can't write a wall of mix.

You are not really asking much of me. I rather put something more difficult together. A mix...anyone can do that. It has kinda been proven the past few years that just about anyone and their mom can make a mix. I'm starting to think, that people who think that somehow being able to put together a mix gives them some sort of credibility. Honestly, any incompetent hack can put a mix together these days.
And i'm not saying anything about my taste being above anyone's, that is subjective. Though I can say some people simply lack the vision to see the quality and value of a piece of music. And I wonder how the some of you arrive to your opinions/views, so I ask. I mean if I was saying Darude - Sandstorm is the most awesome track 199x, people would not call me oblivious? Same , it is no different from someone saying Danny Howells - On The Moon = boring + bland. When...

You are comparing 50cent to Danny Howells, really?

Only to make the point that your appeal to popularity is useless and absurd.

Yah, because 50cent and Danny Howells both achieved popularity the same way, and their popularities are equal? And both of them are popular for the same reasons, and have the same platforms?
woscar
You brag about having superior reasoning and "vision" than most all of us yet your "arguments" are completely devoid of reason or vision. Arguing that a track's quality is directly proportional to the amount of people that like it and "go wild" to it is as absurd as it gets.
Would you say that this is an amazing track because there are more than 5,000 people going wild to it?
Did I say 5000 people? Pffft! Try a whole arena...
Would you say that acapella is complex, well composed, and dynamic? Because it seems to make people go ing nuts with nothing more than a robotic voice and a trace of sonic haze. It must be the best and most powerful track in the world.

Your original statement was "crowds by the hundreds of thousands disagree," and I responded that crowds of millions disagree with my opinion of Soulja Boy, but that means nothing to me. Ultimately both DH and Soulja Boy have become popular by making or playing music that resonates with people. But the fact that something is liked by a bunch of people has no bearing on whether I think it's any good, nor does it demonstrate that I have "poor reasoning" (LOL) if I don't like a tune that happened to rock a dance floor somewhere.
Anyway, can you just state your point plainly now?
