PvD in Tokyo, Feb 2008.
Yoda was on before and after, and totally rocked the joint. When PvD was on however, he had his MacBooks, keyboard, some kind of techical team with him, and seemed more interested about how he looked rather than actually getting people to dance. Was really disappointed. But it was worth it because some of the tuneage that Yoda dropped. Unbelievable!
I guess I'll go see him (PvD) again if he's back later this year... |

i love his productions, his mixing was spot-on, but it was all really predictable and "safe." he did nothing interesting at all; just intro/outro mixes the whole night. that and he raped the filters all night, like he felt it necessary to create a big buildup with the hi-pass during every track.
also deep dish; saw them in 07 and it was again, predictable and safe. you'd think with two guys up there they would do something interesting, instead it was just the two of them tagging off mixes and jumping up and down.
one dj that i thought would be but actually impressed me was bad boy bill of all people, i don't get down with his productions or electro house at all for that matter but he was a lot of fun, kept everyone dancing, and did a lot of technically interesting mixes. |

Really suprisingly Matthew Dear :conf:
Started off brillaintly, dropped a few tracks I quite enjoy like Mountain People - 006.2, but then descended into a farce of trainwrecking, changing the bpm by about 5 or so every track (no joke), and basically just playing for himself. He was certainly enjoying it though, was gurning as if he was being blown underneath the decks.
Sebo K, who played before him, evened the night out, as I had not expected him to be too great and he ended up blowing my ing socks off. |
