Kelly, I thought I was the only to loose stuff. Thursday night of Tiesto at Wh, I was going nuts to a song Tiesto dropped and next thing I know, my $700 digital camera and iPhone was goneee. I was looking for it the whole night lol And on NYE, I lost my Tiesto jersey which was signed by him. :(
:( :( :( omg thats a lot of stuff!!!
booo!! :(
z: yeah it was SUCH a bummer! we were in one of those weird awkward tables in the corner (we got there at like 1:30 and got stuck with a table). In order to put my clutch down and pour a drink, I kinda had to turn my back to it....money and camera gone!! no credit cards, thank god, but I did have to get a new ID and still no camera :( :(
Its retarded that I cant pour a drink for 5 seconds without a million (probably non-paying VIP people) surrounding my table and stealing my ......If they had regulated the amount of people up there, I am certain that there would be a hell of a lot less chance of my being taken.....its a lot easier to be sneaky in a huge crowd of people! (hence why people get stolen out of their pockets in the middle of the dancefloor....when you look around at the hundreds of people, who do you blame?") meh...... such is life. :( :(
Scoops
I never really lost anything at a club but i did find $100 on the floor at Surf Club a few years ago....
...and i found a few JARs on the dance floor at tempts back in the day
glittergirl
so, the summary of all 13 pages of this review is exactly what I predicted:
1) victor rcoked, as always
2) pacha sucked, as always
3) this thread turned into a huge tiesto vs. armin vs. every other trance dj war, just like every trance review does lol
I got into nyc way too late- -- in fact, i was checking into my hotel exactly at 1:00, and I was upset that I missed victor's set but not upset that i missed an overpacked, overdrama'ed club with an over-ego'd overcheesed dj that I don't like. I had more fun hanging with my usual weekend crew at the hotel and it felt good just getting away from here for awhile.
the only part of the whole weekend that sucked was megabus. this is the first weekend in a long time i actually booked my bus ticket home (and at a reasonable hour!). i waited for the 5:30 bus for over and hour and it didn't come. by this time, people were also lined up for the 5:50 and the 6:00 bus. everyone was confused as to whether they were on megabus or eastern travel. at 6:30, i'm at the head of the line and it starts to POUR. i am the only person in ny without an umbrella b/c i didnt think i needed one. it was such a nice day! so after enduring that for about 30 seconds and then admitting defeat, i ran under shelter and of course that's when the bus came, so i had to get to the back of the line.
by the time i got to the front, i was 2 people away from getting on and theb bus driver said 'no more seat." there were about 40 of us overbooked for the 5:30, and we were told we'd have to wait. the guy in the megabus said "it's not my ing problem" and all these people were yelling and shouting at him. he just yelled right back, cursing and threatening people. people were asking him what kind of customer service that was and he pointed to his megabus shirt and said "i dont even work for eastern travel (which is the same ing company). the woman behind me SHOVED me out of the way with her child and got on the bus and wouldnt budge, demanding a seat and saying she wasn't getting off. oh, and some bitch got on in front of all of us and shoved money into the bus driver's hand right in front of me and everyone started going nuts. it was the most ed up thing i have ever seen. they promised we would get on the next bus, and by this time there were hundreds of people in line. the next bus came almost a block away and noone bothered to tell us this was the bus we could take. they were loading everyone else on this bus so finally i just ran down the block and jumped into line and luckily i got on. i bet that woman and her kid that stood there yelling and refusing to get off the other bus for 15 minutes probably didn't get on.
i'm writing a letter.
anyways, sorry i missed your set vic but glad you got stop by for awhile -- sorry i was almost passed out by then. will see you and everyone in a few weeks! :)

No, its not an easy job but it's the line of the work they chose. Meanwhile WE are paying the club to enjoy ourselves not get yelled at, harassed, pushed, etc.
I don't disagree.
From all the reviews, it just seems like it was "one of those nights."
Based on people's reviews...the wait staff seemed bitchy, the security seemed bitchy, even ATB seemed bitchy lol. Maybe it was the heat. Idk.
For the short time I was there though, the crowd seemed VERY into his set. Maybe he needs a bigger venue...?

Please dont take this the wrong way, but I dont agree with the it was just "one of those nights". Every night at Pacha is "one of those nights". Management in the end is responsible for employee training, service and defending the Pacha brand. Even though many people will say that management are cool people and some of you might know them personally or are good friends with them, in the end it comes down to how they manage/control their employees and the type of experience people have after paying the admission fee etc.. They are doing a poor job at both of these things, and according to another post, this has happened ever since it opened.
Just as an example, I havent seen one person thats in any way affiliated with Pacha give an explanation on these forums when people have bad experiences or follow up on events. I would be surprised if they responded to this thread at all after what people have written here, because Pacha Management or anyone affiliated with Pacha doesnt care about the customer. All they care about is promoting their events, asking us to sign up for their guestlists and how much money they make at the end of an event. Its a business at the end of the day and demand for Pacha doesnt seem to be dropping soon. Maybe its a different world in VIP, I just dont know, but from what people have said, its not that much different up there either.
I agree with you on the fact that the crowd was into ATB's and Victor's set. We just need to move them to another venue. I would rather pay a little bit more to see a DJ at another venue than make an exception and have to go through the Pacha Experience the owners/managers seem to be doing nothing about.
Edit: I have to agree with what Z has said so far.

AY STAR
at the end of the day pacha is a business
so like z was saying, they won best club, they are basically their only competition at this point for big club in nyc
they will only continue to grow and grow
with that being said, yes they are a business but that does not give them the right to have rude and shady workers
i had 4 pretty bad experiences with them
1) the night markus and svd were there back in o7
i was going down the stairs to coat check to grab my coat, before the end of the night and a big mob scene, some drunk or banged up on drugs kid bumped into me hard so i told him bro take it easy
the kid took a swing at me...now the bouncer was at the bottom of the steps and saw the whole situation, i didnt hit the kid back but just grabed his arms to prevent him from swinging more and hold him still cause i didnt wanna fall down the steps, the bouncer saw the whole thing and still kicked me out i was like bro i didnt even do nutin and he was a total dick about it and told me "i dont care get the f*ck out"
2) carl cox & calderone at pacha oct 2007, it was like 10 bucks before midnight i get to the club at around 11, the line was not bad usually like a 20 min wait..any how it took me 55 min to get to the front, when i get the cashier and it was only one at the time, it was 11:59 she told me hold up and stoped the line for a min or 2 then another cashier came on and said ok now its 25 bucks i was like are u serious i was here, she said shes just doing her job, which i understand i just didnt like how they had one cashier open and it was delaying the whole line
3)new years day 2008 me and my friends get to the line, and the head bouncer tells my boy "you cant come in u got into a fight here last week" my friend is like huh and the bouncer was like "i know you ur name is lawerence ur a real punk" my friend is like "wat r u talkin about my name is mike look at my id" the guy was really rude about it and didnt even care...my friend called a promoter from inside and had to come out and settle the whole thing, and the guy was still being a jerk after his id said his name was not lawerence and 3 other pacha workers said it also
4) new years day 2008 i go to the basement bar and i ask for a drink
she fills it 3/4 of the way full, i pick it up and look at it and i said nicely "excuse me miss can you fill it up the rest of the way?"
she looks at me and goes "oh, you want double the alchol..that will be another 10 bucks" i laughed and put the drink down and walked away
then later on the bartender on the mainfloor was chargeing $8 for a vodka and tonic and the bartenders on the 3rd floor were chargeing $10 or $11 for the same drink...was their vodka magic vodka? did it come from the same place that jack bought his beanstalk beans?
between my stories and alot of friends stories...i feel they need to work on how they treat their customers,, yea it is a very busy and stressfull business to be apart of but just listen to people's feed back and try and work with them cause we have patrons do have some say
we do support their club after all
Neo95gt
I've never had a problem with Pacha and the door bouncers always give me and my gf red bands to go up in vip if we want.

+1!! :haha: :haha: best movie ever.
perhaps we ouugh to consolidate out complaints into one thread? maybe they are more likely to read it if there is a specific thread for it.
probably wishful thinking that Pacha would actually read what people have to say and make some changes......but one would think that regular patrons (NOT just the people who come out for Tiesto and ATB and dissapear the rest of the year....) would gave some criticism that ought not be ignored.
