Because of the monsterous amount of people, and the employees giving a rat's ass the last few hours, the shoplifters will have a field day.

Strike was avoided and they are still open for the time being. Nice little boost in sales yesterday for them I bet :)

The fact that people were that concerned they would have to go without their alcohol for a short period of time just shows how pathetic our society has become.

I think quite a few of the people doing a 'massive stock up' were bar and restaurant owners where booze sales accounts for a large part of their profits.

Also factor in that it's Pride this weekend - and you probably had allot of people buying extra for the weekend, and there was also a warning that "the strike could go on awhile...."

Meh, all I did was buy a 34 dollar bottle of Vodka on Monday to ensure I had booze for the weekend and didn't really care beyond that.

apparently yesterday, LCBO made $17m in sales across ontario as compared to the average $7m on an average day in june or something along those lines

I dont think its pathetic that people want to have a good time. Some people would argue that going to an all night party is excessive and pathetic. Others would disagree.

One thing that strikes me about those numbers - is still, on a normal day in June they still pull in 7m profit?
