I dont think its pathetic that people want to have a good time. Some people would argue that going to an all night party is excessive and pathetic. Others would disagree. |
Wanting to have a good time and a few drinks isn't pathetic. Being scared that you might not be able to get alcohol for a few weeks and spending several hundred dollars on booze in order to stock up for a few weeks is. |

Your reasoning is flawed. People wait all year for the summer to finally kick in so they can have bbqs, parties and what not. Of course they're going to stock up if there's a strike looming so that their plans aren't ruined. The union going on strike at this time is obviously strategic. Their contract expired March 31st. Why didn't they go on strike April 1st then? |

| On the LCBO website, it says that they are continuing to negotiate, and that it's business as usual. Last might at the LCBO it was insane, shelved of liquor were empty, people were buying hundreds of dollars worth of wines and hard liquor, cases of imported beer ... and theres no strike. People were in such a panic, and the LCBO made a load money. |

We only get 2 months of good weather per year if we are lucky... no need to waste that on a stupid strike by a bunch of spoiled people right? |

If not having liquor at your party is going to ruin it then that is pathetic. Anyone who throws any kind of parties should be stocked year round with alcohol. If I find I'm low on something then I go out an buy another bottle. I use to buy a different type of liqour every month so I would have a stock pile of various things.....I had so much alcohol I ended up giving stuff away because I just had too much.
I can understand some people needing to make the big purchases because they had a big event (wedding, batchelor party, etc.) in the next couple of weeks but I don't think that accounts for the huge increase in sales. |

If you're that desperate then head over to the beer store....anything they have there will get you just as drunk and if you are in a real pinch.....the US is only a short drive for the majority of people in Ontario. |

Many students working as councillors are without a job now that city-run summer camps are closed.
Municipally-run golf courses are closed as well. I was thinking of teeing off this weekend, since no one will be working to kick us out. |

Why not just let people be to do what makes them happy? If they have a different way of stocking booze or socializing, who cares? The more you meddle with other people's lives, the more yours will become the subject of scrutiny. |

I wonder if people put out of work who are not related to the union can enter a class action?
I think they should at least get a portion of the strike pay at VERY minumum. These are the people who i feel sorry for. The ones who WANT to work but cant. |
