dipietro's contract is ghastly.
at least when he is injured it does not count vs the cap. The ilses have so many great young prospects, that if they could get rid of that contract (which is simply impossible) they could be contenders very quickly. |

They have 2 support-role players as their top line (camellari, gionta), and one washed up has-been (Gomez).
They have a goalie who came in with promise, then started smoking weed or something because he quickly stopped caring about being any good (Price).
They lost a clutch player in Higgins.
Gill is both an asset, and a liability. He's great on the PK, but often picks up penalties of his own. He's big, but he doesn't use his size to get physical, and he's slow. And in the meantime you lost Komisarek, who probably just needed a summer to recoup his shoulder.
Doesn't look so good over in Frog-town...
But really, who knows... Maybe that top line will actually produce. |

I called into AM 640 one time and made the (I felt completely credible and qualified) suggestion that they replace the current Leafs with the Marlies...

| at least they have an interesting defence now and are a tougher team. That being said i think that the colton orr contract was one of the dumbest ones given during free agency. |
