As long as he can play nice with the others. |
The guy went from Atlanta (a non existent hockey team) to Ottawa (at team with a fan base that did good for one season then hit rock bottom)... I think he will be happy in SJ, always a contender, tons of depth and good players. |

Players from all his teams up until he requested the trade have spoken nothing but kind words about Heatley as a locker-room guy. As a teammate, I'm sure he'll be fine, but he's obviously going/gone through some issues recently that have caused this Ottawa -show.
The problem isn't his locker room personality, it's that he disappears come playoff-time. |

not quite true at all. If you look at his playoff stats he has 35 points in 34 games. That is hardly disappearing. Joe Thornton on the other hand (53 pts in 70 playoff games) is a different story. If you also look at his performance as an international player, you would see that he is a big game player and steps up. Ottawa failed because they just were not as good as everyone thought (and 0 goaltending doesn't help), not because of Dany Heatley. |

I think Heatley will be good for SJ and vice versa.
Heatley might be the offensive wingman that Joe needs, on top of the chemistry he has with Setoguchi. That top line is gonna be massive. |

The SJ trade evens out when you consider that they got rid of Ehrhoff and Lukowich for it (thanks btw).
In other news, Gaborik is injured again. |

It wasnt an injury... his groin was sore, was back at practice the next day. He is a big though. |

| even so, he will miss more games than you would like him to this year. I am willing to bet big bucks on it. It is too bad, because he is such an explosive player (probably has the best acceleration in the nhl, it is incredible how he can just change gears and blow by people.), no heart at all though. |

I dont get this groin thing though... is it possible that hes gets so much torque when he starts and stops that it puts that much strain on him?
Granted its hard to skate and play when youre bothered by something like that, but people have played with worse. I hope he gets between 60-70 games. Important thing for the Rangers is that he's fresh for the playoffs, so I expect the coaching staff to sit him the last week of the season if they clinch a spot.
Heartbreaking. |

I'm going offtopic here but I will watch Ässät-HIFK tomorrow and I'm interested to see how Granlund plays. Gonna write something about him after the game ;)
And back to the topic. John Tavares played his first game in Islanders-shirt. Must be a bust when he didn't make three goals immediately. |
