I don't know; maybe a dozen centuries ago or so.

I want to play life on hard mode. Life should be a challenge, but today's society is so backwards that I would have to go very far out of my way to avoid having all my basic needs met. Human beings have an inherent need to confront meaningful problems. These days, most people have to resort to deluding themselves into believing that the most petty inconveniences and insubstantial obstacles are crises of the highest order.

It's really rather tragic: our ancestors grew too adept at overcoming their problems. So now, with the only real problems trivialized, we spend our energies fighting imaginary ones. If you spend your life dealing with fake problems, then it seems to me you are basically living a fake life.

That's a very interesting take on modern life, and not all that ridiculous.

Have you ever wondered why mental issues like depression and ADD aren't present in Africa? It may well be because those afflictions are unknown/unreported, but I think it's more likely that Western society has created these conditions like some kind of giant, society-wide psychosomatic action.

I think you're right in a way; the average modern man isn't faced with enough challenges and so has to invent them for himself.

Hey guys, i heard our well established health regulation system in this beautiful industrialized nation has granted certifications to witch doctors and voodoo magic.

No, that would not boil over well with the public, which is why they (africa humans)have their magic for adsandess, and we are spending 90million a day with super computers trying to mix lithium and helium together in the form of a "pill" which will solve sdepresion

to be a teenager in either the 80s or 90s. i was a kid in the 90s and im a teenager of the 00s. everyone tells me id fit into the 80s perfectly though. my type of music and the entire new wave / romanticism era is pretty much what im about .

you think that's bad, did you see that last episode of The Hills?!

You are speaking on behalf of the minority of todays population. Why go back 1200 years when you can worry solely about where to get your next meal in Somalia today? not so romantic anymore is it...
