man... cigarettes are SO retardedly addictive... i took up smoking for 2 weeks during exams to stay awake... cigarettes + coffee = no sleep. so anyways, after exams, i thought i'd be done with that crap... but for some reason i just kept going... it took me a month to stop, and i still get itchy every time i smell tobacco.... that was only TWO weeks of smoking though...
props to you... 8 years? that's tough man... |

congratulations eric
i quit smoking 2 months ago. yes its hard but i feel 100% better about myself and everything i do now (including having more money in my pocket). Its tough but just stick it out.
I find running is a great way to take my mind off smoking. Before when i smoked, it took me about 22 minutes to run 2 miles.... now i run (smoke-free) 2 miles in about 13 and a half minutes. BIG difference. You just feel so much healthier and proud of yourself.
So kudos to you, congratulations, and keep off it. Kind of a shame it was the financial reason you quit instead of the "going to give you cancer in a couple of years" reason, but hey, at least you quit.
Take care

good stuff! keep fighting against the nicotine mate. i know it kills you when the craving comes, but if you win this war, you'll feel better, look better, live longer, your breath smells fresher, your teeth look whiter.
it's worth it.
so here i challenge you: 5 days without a cigarette, then we'll move on from that. let us know how it goes in this thread! |
