That’s right, the rumours are true… once again the Nexus nightcats are out on the prowl looking to rock and/or roll all five senses of Melbourne's clubbers and bring each and every one of you a friendly, rockin', trance-laden night out!
This Nexus however, we're dabbling in something a little different.
Adding to the already brimming plethora of talented trance DJ's our fine city has to offer, this round of Nexus is being joined by two live acts to help us party on and show us all just how versatile and artistically gifted Melbourne really is! Live acts for the night are set to include Blinky of BeatGeek Records, Interview and Kiss FM fame playing his own unique blend of techy, rockin' original sounds and also joining Nexus resident James Brooke will be his vocalist sister Sara Brooke & technical effect wizard Myke Ireland - all three known better as the beautiful collaborative trio Lumiera.
Headlining this bad boy will be arguably Melbourne's biggest export, DJ, producer and all-round trance gun Mike Nichol signed to Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance and Armada record label's and also one of Melbourne's best kept production and DJ secret's Majera, signed to Solarstone's Deep Blue and Solaris record labels. In addition to this formidable team will be first time Nexus guest Dave Thomas set to infect us all with beautiful progressive trance with Europe-bitten White Sands DJ Brendan B providing his unique blend of brilliant trance and Jed closing off the lineup with his regular rocking sounds.
So crank the volume and bring some spare undies because with live acts, blistering trance and rockin' tech - Nexus is set to blow your senses (and pants) completely sideways!

Nexus featuring LUMIERA [LIVE]
Emerging from the desire to create something different, Lumiera is the innovative musical project of singer/songwriter Sara Brooke, producer Myke Ireland and DJ James Brooke. The trio perform and entertain a variety of settings and environments; their music a melting pot for their many different inspirations, influences and passions.
The year 2009 has seen Lumiera take their performance up a notch, delivering outstanding shows at events such as Loose, Dynamic and Cho Gao whilst preparations are in full swing as they get set to rock, for their very first time, the crowd and crew at Nexus.
With influences such as Massive Attack, BT, Lamb, Moshic, Tool, Portishead, Unkle, Kosheen, Chicane, Timbaland, Guy Sigsworth, EBTG, Tricky, Melburn Massive, Light, Dark, Dirty Beats, Twinkling Stars, Peaking Dancefloors, Life and Love and many more, it's easy to see why Lumiera stand out as a formidable collaborative trio, set on injecting a unique and beautiful blend of progressive and melodic trance sounds into the scene and clubbers of Melbourne.

I saw Lumiera play at Loose, and seeing a brother/sister act brought a tear to my eyes.
Its like the Jackson Five, but only three fifths...
Sweet im gona be there once and for all Jed, Aug 7th is my bday and i plan on getting a few drinks in me
Itl be nice to see Nichol play as well, havnt seen him belt out a set since Marcus After Party @ QBH... gotta support the mates!

Nexus featuring MAJERA (SOLARIS)
Born October 13, 1988, in Melbourne, Australia, Engin Ogutveren (Majera) has always been passionate about music. By the age of eight he was playing the guitar, soon after he added the keyboard, and as music continued to be a dominant interest in his life, he realized there would be no turning back. DJ-ing and music production had to follow.
Some of Majera's earliest influences were J & R Project, Da Hool and Ayla, all of whom left a deep impression on Majera and turned him toward his preferred choice: dance music.
Other influences include such trance giants as Solarstone, Ferry Corsten, Airwave (Lolo), M.I.K.E. (Push), Nu-Nrg, Aly & Fila, Markus Schulz & Breakfast.
Majera is currently working feverishly on several progressive and trance follow ups. His melodies are consistently haunting, deep and beautiful, a mixture of gentle rhythms and natural sounds which may well prove to be his signature trademark. Already featured on numerous compilations and receiving heavy support by such notable trance artists as Solarstone, Aly & Fila and other leading top jocks, Majera is a rising young talent to watch out for.

| Ok dewds Ill have a glist for ye olde Nexus. So contact me to get on it. I love these nights,just a whole bunch of mates,drinks,some shenanigans, general loss of memory and usually a drunken Jova involved prank (or faceplant!). What more could you want?!!!! |
