Yeah at the vet they do blood tests and lukemia checkups and all that jazz... worms and too (at our request). Not each time, but you know. Just making sure everything is tip top. |
i see where you're coming from. i love my animals and treat them like my "children" but i've never been the type to go all out w/ the healthcare and toys. i mean my dog has a few toys and milkbone treats once in a while but i have a girlfriend with 2 labs and she goes to these fancy dog treat bakeries and spends like $150 on treats for them and has them at the groomer and vet all the time. i'm like dude they're ing DOGS:wtf:
i mean they're easily entertained/pleased. mine is happier than a pig in with nothing but a tennis ball and some play time. has his shots and he's good to go. |

I know what you mean... my friend who lives down in Aventura actually buys the type of dog food you have to cook, and makes his dog breakfast each morning at the stove like he's cooking for children. And his dog is an inbred cocker spaniel to boot. lol... he's got problems. |

:wtf: That's ing weird.
Seriously, the best thing you can give a dog to eat is raw meat, preferably on a large bone. They're dogs, ffs. |

I know man... it's bizarre. The guy and his wife are both psychiatrists too; that might explain things a little bit. |

My grandparents dogs were all fed a water that you poured boiling water over 2 hours before feeding. It worked for them. Mine has a diet of a hypo-allergenic food (she had stomach problems as a pup) and whenever she's ill or we feel generous, fresh rice & chicken |

yeah but you don't take to the stove each morning, whipping up gourmet dishes using pans and stuff.... do you? :nervous: |

nope, but if i could afford to, I would perhaps quite often. Most of the dog foods include things which aren't so good for them but fill the meals out, like ash, so it's good to give them as natural as possible and sadly with meat especially these days you don't know where it's come from in the days where you could just goto your local butcher and get stuff suitable, so cooking it makes sense |

my condolences. as far as I know, small dogs have a bigger life expectancy compared to big dogs. your dog should have a average life span of more than 10 years I guess, maybe 14-16. just my 5 cents |

Yeah, that's why it was so unexpected, totally thinking he was going to live longer. I guess the rest of his litter died around the same age, all from heart problems, crazy. |
