Will this ever go out of style?

Where I come from, Trance ranks right up there as one of the most hated and insulted genres out there. And I'm wondering, will this fashionable mentality of dissing trance ever go out of style? It makes me upset and almost ashamed that I like trance.

You'd think that more people would hate it or get sick of it in holland because you probably hear it everywhere and almost all the time. Not me though, I don't think I'll get sick anytime soon. ;)

For a good reason, too. Trance totally lost it and now it's just fairy spineless music without any kick or substance anymore. There's the odd exception, but in general trance really does deserve to be dissed.

For some it IS a trend and an attempt to fit in with the crowd "in the know" but again many people who know what they are talking have lost respect for trance ... it's not a trend thing Well, unless it's coming from the wannabe-thug junglists ;)

i think trance will usually always get dissed because its just music. people like to sing and a lot of trance music doesnt allow ppl to sing along with it. IMHO.

ah trance is slowly dying.:(

Yeh we get alot of that in Australia too. Most people have no idea what Trance is and say "Thats techno !"
I feel like punching them then stabing them. But I used to care what people think but now I think "Screw you, I am privelidged to be listening to trance while you listen to teeny bopper !"

yeah, I've been abused by people after I've told them that I like trance. It's funny, the people who abuse me for liking trance are often the kind of people who refuse to make their own musical preference known...hrmm...
webmeister
Or the people whose musical tastes are "oh i dunno, anything i guess, as long as its good"

damn i hate those ppl grrrr

Alot of people in my area don't know what it is, they just generalize it as techno. but only through education can these people know WHAT THE IS GOING ON IN THE MUSIC WORLD!!

trance is a genre that is appreciated through experiences and careful thought. many idiots say it's just repetitive beats, well for the beginning and endings of songs they have to be for mixing purposes. another thing i hear is that it's no talent required to make this kinda music

you need a tune in your head first before you start producing, and i ask thosae people how hard is it to rearrange powerchords??

how did most of us discover trance?

in canada it was mainly through the internet and/or clubs

canadians hear and like what the radio stations want to be popular

most of the we listen to will never be played on canadian radio

Love trance and be proud of your musical preference. It's a great feeling to be driving in your car knowing that most likely no one else is listening to what you are at that time.
