the tracks I've mentioned are the tracks I listened to before I got into modern music. I have a special relation to all of them.
Especially some of the Genesis tracks. I used to go to bed and listen to the 12 min version of Home By The Sea and just felt like I was somewhere else. |

Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd (I'm counting them :P), Phil Collins, Commodore 64/Genesis/SNES.
I also grew up hearing a lot of DEVO, but don't tell anyone. |

Nice. Home By The Sea (with Second Home...) is a nice piece of music for being from the Phil Collins (trio) era. ;) |

Thats what I'm talking about!!
One of the very few tracks that is so uplifting yet so sad and poignant.
The Brazillian was another Genesis track that hits the spot.
Some great mentions of songs in this thread. |

Oh, how the did I forget Vangelis? I know his score for Blade Runner was only released in 1994 but the film was 1982 and I loved it from the first time I saw the movie.

As I said, I was too young to really be influenced by 80s music before I heard modern dance music, but the stuff I've mentioned have been massive influences on my tastes, which continue to grow. |

| Freestyle would have to be one of the biggest influences on my tastes, used to listen to a LOT of it when I was a wee lad, on NYC radio stations. Also, they were sort of a cross between freestyle and pop dance, but Information Society was another big one. |

| Toto's best track isn't Africa (imo), it's Georgy Porgy. |
