Anyone else sick of new remixes of trance classics? (pg. 2)

Most new remixes suck. The last GOOD classics remixers were Gabriel and Dresden. They actually enhanced tracks, and gave them a new feel, rather than just ripping off the original.

Latest guilty party

MIKE - Sunrise At Palamos

Adds nothing to the original, but it's a remix for the sake of doing a remix of a classic.

You should only do a remix if you're going to add or enhance the original. This remix lacks originality.

Dear trance producers. Stop killing trance.

Some of the remixes I really do love, but I think that the original Sunrise at Palamos is perfect. Amazing mood, perfect progression, fantastic melody...

The remixes of classics that I like are when they go from "Hands in the Air" to really really banging/techy.

I prefer trance remixes into house more often than not.

Really? You like ALL trance remixes?

I'm with Johan and others. If it's done well sure, but usually it's just recylced crap with the 'better parts' of the original and all the modern elements of the day making it sounds 10x worse.

I once heard Menno play a remix of Madagascar which was the 'bad style' of tech trance that's been the fad in the past few years, nobody knew what the hell track it was, felt so weird.

Never remix a classic, end of topic.

I don't HATE them, what is there to hate? mind you not everyone is so educated and knows their classics by heart - I'm still discovering some of them I never heard before (no idea how that happened)

so nope!

That's what I'm saying. UNLESS it's a person who was around that time who makes it even better and incorporates the feel of the tune.

90% if not more of the 'classic' remixes today don't follow this imo.

Check out what Johan and others were saying before about what they don't like (hate) about them.

As for still discovering classics, I have a crapload, let me know if you want some, can send them your way.
