| Question...how does that work? Does your place of employment specifically know of TranceAddict and block this site specifically, and if not, how do they do it? Is there a way to block forums in general? |

Yes. It depends on the software they used to block but most software do by category type (companies have employees that sort through websites and categorize them). Last time I checked web sense TA is classified as a discussion board.
It blocks by sniffing network traffic, matching it and then sending a blocked message back to the computer. Most of the times.
It really depends on the workplace though. There are a lot of ways to block and as such there is ways to get past them. |

ahh yes...i remember the day this happened at work.
BRUTAL!!!
for a while i had no idea what to do with myself. even besides posting which i didn't do very often...TA was always entertaining to read :) |

Setup an account on logmein.com and then see if you can log into your home computer from work to use TA. Most likely they will have blocked that site, as well as pcanywhere and other sites close to that, but you never know lol.
I don't block any sites at the moment on my work network, but I check the sites people on the network are going to and it hasn't been bad yet. When the world juniors were playing their tournament everyone was watching the games on their PCs live in 7 locations haha. That took up bandwidth, but I tracked it and we were fine so we didn't care. Thank you fiber optics lol. |
