meh...
I'll wait until details are out before commenting.
IF it is true (big if) and IF council ratifies it (another big if), then Miller and all of council should be lynched... |

I'm just trying to be more polite. :p
seems silly to get too worked up before all is known. but fact-finding runs a distant 2nd to complaining for some people. |

| i don't care about the implications of this strike's agreement. I am just glad that the garbage will be disposed of once again and maybe we can conquer these fruit flies once and for all! LOL |

I think this thread is a fair response to this | quote: | | "We feel quite pleased that we were able to reach a settlement that we believe is fair, a settlement without concessions," said Mark Ferguson, president of CUPE Local 416. |

Jay, I am really surprised that you were so slow to know this.
I had a water contractor at my house yesterday at 9am and he had word over the cb that the strike was over. Details to be released later today.
I make that a full 15 hours after me.... you're slacking ;);) |

It was all over the news yesterday morning at 7:30...
Details are that workers with banked hours will get paid out or they can bank them for retirement BUT there will be no more banking from now on...
If you don't claim sick days, you lose them. Which is the way it should be...
The concession that the city made was a 6% raise instead of 4%...
And the contract duration was changed as well. Reduced from 4 yrs to 3 I believe but don't quote me...
This is all from 680 news this morning...
It all sounds fair.. |
