3/4 of all people are 'yes men'. (pg. 2)

This is almost in relation to my thread about valuing your time.

To me its more of an idea of how you invest your time. If the thing is not critical and I don't feel like dealing with it I will just agree to get the situation past and gone and out of the way. I'd rather move on to something more productive than fight every little battle.

If you can bypass some of them then I feel thats the most productive way to affectively lead a situation.

In those situations would I be considered a yes man? Yes.

If the situation is critical or something I strongly believe in though I will spend the time arguing it to a point where I am happy with the result, even if the time ends up being more than its worth.

Its all about time and productivity. Arguing the finer points when drawing out the bigger picture is just a recipe for disaster.

Omg, how does one choose just ONE type of cookie? Better just give me a whole plate of assorted cookies.

On that note, I prefer White Chocolate & Macadamia, and Oatmeal Raisin. Get to baking. :whip:

Couldn't she just jack up the privacy settings so her boss doesn't know she is on it?

You're assuming she's using logic here, kr00t0n. :p

Of course, and I fully agree with what you're saying...but I guess I'm referring mostly to social situations when people's feelings and opinions are involved.

Like, I think about my one girlfriend who always has drama going on/is creating it...simply because she can't be forthcoming with people and/or assert herself. She's constantly caught up in other people's opinion of her, and basically doesn't want to give anyone a reason not to like her. I understand why she does it, and her heart's in the right place, but in the end she makes herself look shady and manipulative.

What's wrong with being shady and manipulative?

Nothing if it's cold and calculating; but when it stems from cowardice it's pathetic.

So true.

Sorry, but when my boss tells a joke, I am going to laugh. Because he pays me to. I wouldn't be very good at my job if I didn't do what I was being paid for, now would I?

You know what's maybe worse than yes men though? People who keep yes men around them, because they cannot tell the difference. These people are called Management and they need the constant attention of their lessers in order to feel the confirmatory pride requisite of telling others what to do all day long.

But yeah, when I'm not being paid, you, that wasn't funny, no I don't agree, go to hell you stupid .
