id like to point out that i get as frustrated with foreign call centres as much as the rest of you; its a pain in the ass. but what i dont do is make wildly inaccurate inferences on the work ethic of an entire people based on my experiences.
these people work harder, for longer, for much less pay so i think any of us in first-world nations should shut the up. |

i can agree to that. half the people i work with are indians and they work like 80 hour weeks ... every week of the year :p

Sri Lankan is one of the worst in that at times it's nigh on impossible to understand, kinda like the indian but stronger on some words to the point where your head will implode if you try to decipher it. |

| The Indians are a race of hustlers, you have to see an 8 year old kid selling for 16 hours a day to pay for schooling to understand what its like there. People generally attack their accent regardless of how qualified they are, and the reality is that this is unfortunately holding them back. If they focus on teaching softer enunciation of English in schools, Indians will become a large force to be reckoned with, rightfully taking the jobs from over entitled westerners:gsmile: . |

yeah, but i think as standards of living increase and costs naturally follow, foreign countries become less appealing. not to mention the increase in IR legislation as a country modernises. i think companies enjoy the horribly lax protections offered to workers in most of the developing world.
the marxist in me finds it amusing to see the levels of extreme love for capitalism (as shown by citizens of the country who shall remain nameless), yet scores of companies outgrow the *nameless country's* brand of capitalism and relocate to where they are better able to exploit workers. the obvious irony being of course that many of these chosen countries were meant to be 'worker's paradises', lols.
