| Point is, modern psychology largely considers people to be a composite of both their inherited behaviours as well as their learned ones. I don't think there's anything else to it. |

actually..jenny. back in the day my dad was a raging pothead/lunatic and would punch holes in the wall and stuff and if you ever met my dad now, you would be like no ing way. he is the most straight laced, successful, clean-cut ex military type. completely refined and intelligent, funny, etc.... thankfully i never saw that side of him i only know about it because my mom told me and that's why they divorced when i was 2. apparently he went to counselling for a couple of years and went to college after the army and got a great career and traveled, etc...
he's a completely different guy now. |

So you think that all we are as people is a sum of learned behaviours? That's pretty boring. |

If our behaviour is a part of us, and it changed, have we not changed along with it? |
That argument relies on one accepting that behaviour is PART of us as opposed to an outward display intended to illicit a desired response from other people. I believe the latter to be true, which is why our behaviour is so often different depending on the company we are keeping at any given moment. |
