Yes, because white people were enslaved in America for hundreds of years and legally oppressed for about a hundred years after being freed. The situation is exactly the same.
This argument doesn't hold water. I'm sorry but my people never enslaved black people and yet I'm white, so you can yourself and your generalisation that all white people are linked to slavery. The height of ing irony right there

What, so because some people were enslaved three generations ago they deserve a condescending, trite website offering them 'opportunities' and only reminding them once again that the white population sees them as 'different' from themselves? Wake the up. The only way to end discrimination and oppression is to do away with bull like this that convinces Caucasians that the Negroes living in their midst are any different from them and deserve special treatment and/or recognition.
QFT. Plus this is basically just great advertising for McDonalds and an increase in revenue. I'm sure their #1 intention was to praise black people and surely wasn't about making money.
We need to get rid of the segregation already. All things like this do is just hold us back from accepting one another as equals.

It's a textbook 'us and them' paradigm IMO

Erm... Fledz, I hate to tell you this but you're not American, you're not part of the argument in any possible way :p

I tend to agree with you here.

Sorry, where did I say that all white people enslaved black people, or that all white people are linked to slavery, or that you or anyone else today should feel guilty about what happened back then? My ancestors did not hold slaves either (came to U.S. after slavery ended), and I feel no so-called "white guilt." There's no need for insults and " yous." If you think I am trying to guilt you or anybody, perhaps you should reread my posts in this thread.

Still sucks right now. It's called "institutionalized racism", look it up, and we've been fighting it since the inception of America.

I know that and that's the entire point. It doesn't just stay within the boundaries of the States, it spreads. Comments like that insinuate that white man is evil and groups us all together.
People drop the word racism far too much these days anyway.
People will always latch onto any excuse to make life easier for themselves. It's like in Croatia right now where about half of the male population are on "defence pensions" for being in the war, when the majority of us know for a fact that more than half of those barely even picked up a gun and only get it because they were enlisted. They don't deserve it and likewise a lot of black people take advantage of certain benefits which a lot of them don't deserve. They are just using it as an excuse and making a mockery of the people who actually are affected by racism.
