Hmmm... duly noted. In the future I'll make sure it doesn't happen again. He did have a wicked set though. It was way too tempting. Still... I wish one day I'd actually meet someone from Guv management or from INK. In three years not a single one of them has ever made any attempt at contacting me... not once. |
Oh well your videos are pretty awesome and its too bad for them if they have something shoved up there ass which results in them telling you to stop recording....its so pathetic. In my eyes you arent doing any harm at all in recording a DJ set...ESPECIALLY if you have permission from the DJ spinning. Its about having fun and capturing the moment but sometimes people always try to look important by putting people down but them....If I was you I would have kept recording too. |

if the club is not making money off of it, then they dont care if the person is recording for fun, remember its a business! They just want your money! |

So then they shouldnt allow anyone to bring in any recording devices which includes cell phones and cameras. If one person cant record then nobody should be allowed to. Dont you agree? |

see thats the thing. When cell phones came out with cameras, its not possible to confiscate every person's cell phone, thats why i think its confusing when ink wanted Prometheus Xex to turn off his camera, they should just ask nicely to anybody that was recording, whether it was their cell phone or their camera they brought in. |

Hmm... hard to say. No one has a right to bring in ANY device what so ever. Remember it is INK's place and they do set the rules. If they ask anyone, incl myself, to not record then we have no choice but to comply. As it is right now, cell phones don't yet have the capacity to record video as well as my camcorder, or other ppl's cameras. That's why they allow the cell phones I guess. I'm the special case in a sense as I manage to somehow get myself stage access once in a while. Once I do get the access I think I'm under a different set of rules/circumstances. I'm up there as a guest and that gives INK all the right to dictate who is and isn't allowed to record... for whatever the reason. Some may argue that I'm being pushy about what I do, but if I never pushed the boundaries, you wouldn't see the footage that you enjoy watching. For what it's worth, I'm happy they at least tolerate what I do. I only almost got kicked out once, but that was because someone (a TA member) tried to get me kicked out. Not sure if the end result was intentional, but that I'll never know. (I know who it was because that person bragged about it to other Guv staff... which made it back to me.)
One of these days someone from INK will actually contact me and we can have a nice chat about the videos (even I was told that Charles knows about the vids). |

Apples to oranges...
Ppl record for their own momento's...
Francis puts his vids up for business...
And I'll tell you something else...
If this keeps going on, it's gonna be like Miami and many other places where NOBODY can take in a camera unless you have an approved, venue issued media pass... |

Actually I don't. I don't profit from the videos what so ever. Years ago I thought I could record in the club with my old camcorder just for fun. Then I thought it might help with my internet station, thinking that ppl might come to listen if they saw the video. The listeners never increased because of it. Actually the unexpected happened and the videos grew in popularity on their own. I still do them because I like doing them. I like recording and inventing better ways of editing them with some of the creative opening titles and such. I do it as a challenge to myself. Above all it's more of a hobby (for lack of a better term) than anything else. I don't do it for money, I don't do it for recognition or notoriety. I don't do it just to meet various DJ's. I do it because I want to. It's that simple. If someone reads into it in any other way, then that's because that's what they're looking for. No one has ever asked me why I do it, they just simply draw their own conclusions. |

After that story I wrote, I'm assuming it's rhetorical? |
