Darude is a class act. Got a chance to meet him in SD last December. He swings by TA once in a while, so Greetings Ville! Looking forward to seeing you again!

Sorry folks, IMO Darude is much better at 1015. The crowd at Ruby could honestly care less...
Give me a night when I don't get asked at Ruby who the Dj is that's playing and I'll eat those words... |

Blurr, Darude last time at Ruby was better than any night of him at 1015 when it comes to the atmosphere. Period. Mainly because the crowd was going off.
It was actually kind of a surprise. A nice surprise! And Darude must've been feeling it enough to ask for a mic to be hooked up two hours into his set so he could talk to the crowd.
It wasn't his best set musically (as he had a couple hiccups), maybe, but party wise it was the best. The first time I saw him at Ten15 was prob his best set musically as a whole, and that + a real good crowd that night put's it up there overall with his last time at Ruby.
So yeah, his 1015 nights were great! Just last time at Ruby a nice full, rowdy crowd came out and going by their reaction they knew who he was. His last gig at Ruby easily stands out because of all that. His first time at Ruby was more mellow and he def had better 1015 nights than that. That's not to say that night wasn't good either, because it was!
I have never missed Darude at a gig he had in SF. And should be able to hit this party up after I fly in to SF that Friday night. Happy happy joy joy.
(this all said, I wouldn't have any issues if Darude played at 1015...long as he makes his trips to SF!) |

This is such judgemental bull. There's a period in every person's life where they don't know who the DJ is regardless of the venue
It's not like people are born knowing who Darude is. You were someone at one point that didn't know the DJ playing, so was I and everyone else on this forum.
The majority of most people just want to be safe and have fun. If they discover an artist they like in any genre, good for them
Knowing who the DJ is doesn't make you or I a better partier or more knowledgeable about what dancing is really about |

Who the are you to judge if a person doesn't care less, because they don't know who the DJ is?
- Maybe it's their first time listening to trance
- Maybe they work in the medical field and rarely get time off and decided to use this free time to go to Ruby Skye or any venue when they could have went to the movies etc etc etc
A person who discovers dance music today IN ANY WAY isn't better or worse than someone who's been in it for months and years.
If you really think that way about a crowd, then why show up to be with that crowd.
Let me guess? So you can constantly ask us for more stage bracelets than you even need? Maybe because your "I know this DJ" knowledge puts you in a better care category than this "ruby skye crowd" you feel your bracelet has quarantine powers that separates you from dancers who have no idea who's playing
How's that for a judgemental assumption? |
