oh i thought you were picking on me again.

1600/month is expensive dude. move to miami and you'll be able to afford a fancy loft in a highrise on south beach for that amount of money.

actually, i shouldn't say it's "expensive" but i just mean that you can get a lot for that monthly price in south florida, which is a pretty rapidly growing area in terms of property value.

The difference in price is pretty big. My suggestion would be that, if you are considering $820, to stay closer to that end. While you can likely afford the $1600 apt, it's my opinion that when people rent or buy for the first time they should overestimate what it will cost to actually live on their own/own a house. Particularly those that are not moving into a new position or making a change in salary etc. When your income doesn't change and, regardless if you can afford it or not, you are suddenly missing that $820 or $1600/month it does take some adjustment.

First one, the second one is too Entourage. And as much as you want to believe you're in that show, you're not :(

I don't care what Pete says. I think Parklawn is a area. All it is is condos and . Mehhhhhhhhhhh.

We've been trolling craigslist for the last month or so looking for places, and never happened across either of those. You're outside our budget on both end?

Take the first one, save money, buy the second.

You guys look on viewit.ca too, right? Tons of good places on there.

Yeah we've been all over viewit and a few other sites trying to find a place. I feel like we've got a short list of apartments to check out when we come back in September, but eyes are always open for something else.

The only place I've seen so far was one of the Wynford buildings near the DVP. It was an all right place; pretty generic and sterile, but has the sq footage we need with a decent location.

The best places are always 3 bedrooms. More selection, better spaces, better value for the money if you can afford it or want to live with a third person. Compared to a two bedroom you can save at least 100 bucks on rent.

So that's expensive over there for that? Bloody hell, you people should never move to Sydney then. You couldn't rent a bucket for $1600 a month :nervous:

Did you take currency into account? Isn't the Australian dollar way cheaper than the Canadian one?

Places on ViewIt.ca are generally more expensive than on Craigslist. Your best bet is to look at both sites and compare.

Oh woops, I misread, lol.
