viewit has been a decent resource, as has Craigslist, when you check "has photo". Apartment hunting in Toronto has proven to be the same as it is here: tedious, but fun. In the end, I would never decide on a place based solely on an internet description and pictures. I've never really been the mail-order bride type.
One thing about TO's CL is the number of scammers. They list a prime property for rent, but they're in africa, or korea or somewhere and need you to send them the rent before you can get the key. Columbus' CL doesn't have anything like that, but maybe once I move, my exploitative side will emerge ;) Another thing is that almost every place includes a picture or two of their lobby, as if I care what a room with some chairs that I'll never use looks like... |

Agreed, but it sure helps when initially deciding which ones to look at in the first place. |
