well, he just made my ignore list. He just called every single producer - BT, M.I.K.E., Airbase, Paul Van Dyk, Lolo, John '00' Fleming - and every other one - a "cop out".

I'm done listening to this ignorant clown.

Sure, they'll have "learnd" that if the years they've spent producing have all been spent learning that.

If they're like many of us, then they don't really have the time or patience for that crap, they get an idea in their head and use the most expedient means available to "prototype" the idea while it's still fresh, which usually means samples or presets. Maybe after the idea is fleshed out they'll tweak it a bit.

Classical composers usually composed everything with the piano. You think they would have ever finished a project if they started worrying about crap like orchestration right from the get-go?

The best way to work through any creative process is from the top down. Get the arrangement, the hooks, the basic idea down first; fill in the details and polish and fine-tune later.

I think this thread has bloated to 12 pages because of a "using samples is cheating" argument. I don't have time to read through 12 pages of garbage.

All I can say is that if it's cheating, why do the people who claim this still make music that sucks balls? And why do so many of the people here who use samples also make music that sucks balls?

This proves that it doesn't matter. Use samples/presets or not, it's up to you. Stop your bitching and make music you ing fags.

If I took tiesto's latest song [purchase], and pitchbend it down by -12 semitones, then put my name on. ... It would make ASOT. Specificly because it was unoriginal.

People make suck balls music because that is how you get signed.

No I spend my time going over every detail thousands of times and making minute adjustments for weeks/months. Making sure my arrangement is fresh and interesting/intriguing; not nitpicking over whether the sound I used is 90% of what I'm looking for or 99.9%.

We have the ability to make infinite amount of songs why would you spend the most time in the track creation process on the least important aspect which in your methodology would take BY FAR the most time?!?!?!
