The thing that set off me TOTALLY not believing her living in LA was the Michael Jackson tribute story.
The Jackson family held a tribute to Michael a few days after his death at the Staples Center in Downtown LA. Now, according to Tricia, she worked for Universal in Santa Monica...that's about 4 miles from where I work. She claimed to live in North Hollywood, which again is about 7-10 miles from where I live. We had an identical commute to work every day that involved driving through downtown. All week on the news and at work people were saying how big of a cluster downtown will be so you should get an alternate route to work if you need to drive through it.
That day on Facebook she had made her status something like "when you have to leave at 5am to get to work at 8am, you know it's Michael Jackson's funeral". 3 HOURS WTF?! It took me 30 minuets to get to work, granted I took the street. I asked what the deal was and how on earth she managed to take 3 hours getting to work. She said she had to go to the bank, her bank was downtown. I asked which bank, she said Wells Fargo...Wells Fargo is ONLY on the West Coast, so there are tons of them EVERYWHERE including several branches right by our office, there's absolutely zero need to go downtown to get to her bank. And what the hell was she thinking going to a bank that early anyway? In what galaxy does a bank open before 9am?
That was the first part. Second part she said she was ACTUALLY going to his memorial! She managed to get tickets or something through work. I watched the memorial on TV, it ended at about 1pm, she didn't get back on to MSN until almost 4, another 3 hours claiming it took 3 hours to get back from downtown to Santa Monica. I asked a coworker how traffic was getting in (he takes the same freeway she would have HAD to to get back), he said there was no traffic. In fact, there was less traffic than a normal day :stongue: |
