Zabiela was killer, Lawler was deep and dirty, and Sasha played the spoookiest set I've ever heard.
Entrance SUCKED but what can you do??? I hope they figure something out for next time.
Wasn't going to wait in line to get on the main floor in the arena and waste my night standing there... Sucked they kept closing off the arena, I missed half the sets I really wanted to see.
Flames at the Tomb of Doom = O.M.G. Set up there was MASSIVE. Incredible... Good sound and just soooo big! |

If that's the case, I apologize. |

My whole reason for that, was that you were assuming, without even knowing any of the facts. Neither do I, but you have to give them the benefit of the doubt until you ascertain otherwise. |

Negative, I had a white hoodie with a black shirt. I was with two friends, one a short Asian girl and the other, a dude dressed as Scooby-doo. |
Oh, I didn't see you on the stage. I asked if you were that one guy I described since he was by James pretty much all night.
Cool you got to talk to him though, I only got to talk to him for a few moments, I was too nervous to really say anything. :D |

I guess we got there just at the right time. Our Bus dropped us off at 8ish. We where able to walk right in pretty much. Some people in our group who also had VIP had to wait over an our since people in GA stared a riot, moved the gates and jumped over the fences!
If they where expecting the largest crowd ever there should have been more then one way to get in!!!
The Vip area's where much bigger them last year. That was nice. I never had to wait in a long line to get a drink. The bathroom situation was pretty bad. Just 1 trailer and the Lawler stage had out houses! By the time Lawler started they where all over full. When we where walking around I did not see any bath rooms out side:conf:
I could see why they had Tomb of Doom outside. It felt like there was 100,000 people at this years event! I did miss that arena feeling though when you can look around and see the place packed and going off. The arena added extra energy to the night.
I heard horror stories of people trying to get in to the arena this year. We tired but we ended up at the exit and where told to go around. When we did there was a line to get in!! (really???) so we aborted our mission.
As for the music. Did not like Egil's set that much. For me his track selection didn't really have any flow.
JOC's set was Meh.. Due to the other events we have gone to we have seen him 4 times in 2 months. So we opted to walk around and check the other area's out.
Don't really remember much of Hernan's set or Sasha's either. (opps)
When Sasha was about to end it started to get way to crowed. Every one was pushing each way and it was hard to see. I need my space now at these huge events. So we went back to VIP to enjoy Armin's set.
Armin's set was the one I was there for and he did not disappoint at all. I loved it! However we got robbed of our hour!!!! If the event was going to end at 3 when the clocks moved back they should have advertised that it was going to end at 3 :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:
Thank god we had the bus taking us back so we did not have to deal with the parking on the way out.
Over all I had a great time at Monster. Then again I always do. I just hope they fix the kinks for next year. |

From almost every single report I have read from the large parties this year, it seems people had the most fun at the smaller venues this year. Some of my other close friends did a Burning Man-style party in the Hollywood Hills. I had a blast at House of Blues in Anaheim. I had a great set and made some new friends ;) The bathroom line was non-existent... free drinks all night... no entrance fee... they pay me!!! Wow... what a deal!!! ;)
Awesome costumes, Michelle! You guys rocked it! Did you make them or special order? |

I have never seen a major event that occured on the night time went back get an extra hour because of it.
Permits, the hired cops, the union workers, etc don't usually account for time-change.
MM used to happened on the night time changed all the time before 2007, when it was the last sunday in october you changed it on. (as MM usually occurs on the last Saturday...though it's happened on Friday before, too...ala 2003), and I don't recall it ever going on an extra hour.
Guess Armin kinda gave a false-confidence about it when he made his twitter post saying he'd get to do 3 hours because of the time-change, but I've personally never seen it. |

I have never been to a massive on a DST time change but have been to clubs and they always went the extra hour and served alcohol an extra hour. Are they so clueless they didn't realize the date MM was on was the end of DST? If they said it ended at 3am on the flyer, I wouldn't be bitching. But when you pay $300 for 2 tickets, I expect it to go until the time stated. Could have easily been prepared for. I guess it just proves how unorganized they were.
What time did Vanguard go to? |

Vanguard didn't go the "extra hour" either but they let Sander play 20 extra minutes which was really cool. I've been to clubs and events before when the time is changed and they've never gone the extra hour or served alcohol longer. |

Or they figured everyone would be too drunk/high to notice the time when the rave closed. :P |
