i really, really liked this. i was completely drawn to it throughout the premiere. loving the aura of mystery and the characters are fantastic |
I was reading a bit more about it earlier. I was surprised to see Robert Carlisle in one of the main rolls. He's a good actor, so that in itself is pretty cool.
J1, have you watched any of BSG? Does it have any of that 'feel' to it? |

never watched any BSG or Stargate before this, so i can't really comment on that, but i sort of want to give it a shot now...somehow. i always thought these shows were a bit too "spacey" for me but i'm really enjoying this series, it seems fresh, maybe because i'm very new to SG.
carlyle did a pretty stellar job as far as i'm concerned. i really felt as if there was wayyyy more to his character than there was shown; almost eerie. it was a 2 hour premiere, if you've got time i think you should check it out sushi |

PKC can't stand Stargate.
However, and this applies to Sushi too, SG:U is meant to be more like BSG than Stargate from all reports. It's meant to have that gritty feel to it rather than the more comedy feel of SG-1 and Atlantis.
Anyway....DOWNLOADING NAU! |

J1: Do yourself a favour and check out BSG. It's NOT like your typical 'space setting sci-fi' at all.
Fledz: From what I was reading, yeah, it did seem to be described less like the tacky SG1/Atlantis series, and more like BSG. Gritty, like you said. They'd have a ing hard time bettering BSG though (IMO, of course).
I'll definitely take the time to check it out. Tbh, I'd not heard of it before this thread. And I've already got my gf interested too :p |

I absolutely loved both Stargates and I loved BSG. I'm pretty confident I'll like this one too :haha: |

I really enjoyed it. They've still injected the humour in there but it's a little bit more gritty and has plenty of potential. I really hope they make it even more gritty and different as it could be a very good show. Also handy to have a cast where I don't recognise most of the people. |

Love the movie (seen it many, many times), seen all of sg-1 2x times (some episodes more than that) and seen all of Atlantis. I love BSG!!
I'm pretty sure I'll see this one too. Just not right nau. :D |

As a fan of SG1 since the movie and season 1 I have to admit this looks e, but im willing to give it a go (and probably end up watching all of it as a result). SGA sucked at the start, I found, then flattened out a bit for me and picked up in season 4 when that ugly ing bitch whore finally got her just desserts.
I was surprised it lasted 5 seasons lol. Honestly, how can they keep flogging this dead horse. :conf:
Will check out this premiere next week. |

Oh come on, SGA was worth watching just to see what Rodney will pull next. The Rodney centric episodes were actually my favourites on SGA.

Rodney ftw! |

65.6% on SG:Universe and 1.0% on Milf Soup:Persia Pele. |

Yeah Rodney was easily SGA's saving grace, from season 1 he was my main reason for watching it. Shepherd got more interesting after season 2 but I never felt the same connection as with all of the characters encountered in SG1. |
