I see. Discredit the person behind the argument discredits the argument. That doesn't work with me. |
Why not?
If a person emphatically argues a point then goes against it in their personal life, does this not prove the ideal less worthy than one supported both in voice and in action?
If Moore truly believed his touted ideals are worth following, then he would be doing so himself. |

| I don't think he's a hypocrite. His movies highlight very important issues in ways that show you the personal side of those issues. Forget about Michael Moore. If you watched this Capitalism movie, I'm sure it would make you blood boil. Especially you the17sss. This movie advocates many of the things you do. Again, forget about Michael Moore. The documentaries are something every politically informed person should watch, left or right. |

| this movie is about deadmau5 and the rise of Armada records. Just ask some of the people here who have attempted to start up their own digital release record labels. |

i dunno man. what happens if the right message also happens to be profitable? i dont like moore because i think he does damage to progressive politics, but unless you're saying you can't have money AND a conscience, i don't have an inherent or immediate problem with wealthy people speaking out (or profiting by doing so).
i find the irony in moore or rage against the machine are just awesome examples of why capitalism will always always win. |

To be fair, nobody has really mentioned his arguments. It's possible to right and to still be a thoroughly unlikeable cuntbutler.

Because it's a tu quoque fallacy. Moore may be a complete hypocrite, but again that doesn't automatically stop his argument from being correct.
It should also be noted that I'm playing Devil's Advocate in this post, and I don't think everything Moore has argued is correct. |
