Nope, but that's supposed to be the funny part about it. I know, right?
//Don't mistake my familiarity with your position as 'the same job'. What you know about me couldn't fill... well, a single post, obviously. :)
Also, aren't you 'off' for this month? I don't think your Motel actually keeps you on payroll. You're the Milton of their front desk. |

| haha... whew. I was scared there for a second; you don't strike me as the emo type AT ALL. :p |

| Haha, well I *am* inordinately pale and have naturally black hair that reaches past my chin in front... but that's pretty much where the emo stops. It's why there's a secret irony only I and few others are privy to when she tries to take shots at me. :p |

| I don't keep pics of myself at work. That's really unnecessary fyi. |

so you honestly think that you don't take yourself a little too seriously on here (an internet forum called "the chillout room" i remind you)? to me, that's emo. people who can't be happy or lighten the up and stop taking themselves too seriously.
lol a "secret irony". hal you are so unique and cool. how do you do it? can we meet for lunch tomorrow so i can pick your brain?
:tongue2 |

nice try but you've posted them before which means you uploaded it to a hosting site, which means you can access it right now from your computer at work. |

Nope, I clear my Photobucket all of the time.
I put up a front because it's a ing great litmus test for others who take themselves too seriously. What can I say? You tickle my schadenfreude. It's very, very easy, and you are one of my best good helpers.
Were there any more questions? Because I am pretty sure the Slavs are getting all pissy over us ruining their thread.
Or did Fledz want to chide me on my emo pedantry because he endured the equivalent to a really scary thunderstorm in his early life? |

Paulandrews, it's an interesting story, even if you can't remember most of it (the story about the leader in the balcony also seems to capture the spirit of the revolution quite well, as far as I know). |
Yes, a lot of the famous speeches were held this way. It was natural since all the people usually gathered at some square in the centre of the city.
| quote: | By the way, according to Wikipedia, Vaclav Havel was against the dissolution of Czechoslovakia... is there any particular reason why the Slovaks wanted to be alone? Or was it just nationalism?
|
Nah, the reasons were much more prosaic; just some administrative problems, and perhaps economy. Nationalism may have played a minor role on the Slovak side (since the party which didn't advocate the dissolution failed at elections), but if it was down to the regular people, they probably wouldn't have wanted it. It is said that Klaus and Meciar (the two prime ministers) split up the country.
There's still quite a strong bond between the two countries though. Of course, we share a very similar culture, and we can still understand each other very well. Hell, some of my really good friends here are Slovaks. There is some rivalry but we're doing fine :) |
