Why just the 'white folks'? There were black people running around with guns at those town halls as well. Most notably, the footage of a black man that was cleverly edited and aired by MSNBC while they blabbered on about how the gun-toting villains were racially motivated.

Actually MSNBC did show him, thanks for reminding me i had completely forgotten about him.

Australia's politicians aren't any better.
In a recent parliamentary sitting one of our politicians put his hands over his ears and yelled 'la la la, la la la!' so he wouldn't have to hear the opinion of his opponent.
I was talking more about the public. But you're right, politicians are a joke. I refer you to this video which is of close resemblance to our real parliament:

ah I love European politicians.. This is by far my most favorite moment, ever.

Please tell me America has normal people who can present rational viewpoints in a sensible manner and then have the intellect to listen to the response and come up with a reasonable rebuttal.
We do, they just get no TV time because idiots and fanatics are more entertaining to our uneducated population.

Oh ya, they sure DID 'show' him.
While i cant argue with that, i should have added that i dont watch the news part of msnbc, but rather the opinion shows that discuss the news (Maddow and Olbermann), and im still reasonably certain that they showed the black guy there, even if the main news didnt.
But whether they showed him or not is really just distracting from the point that there were retards with ing assault weapons at the town halls. That is scary, not some douche protester getting his finger bitten of by some other guy that he previously punched which is what i was trying to point out. But, if that single word white in my post offends you so much i will remove it, just for you (even if, safe for the token black guy, the people who appeared armed at these meetings were mostly white).

And how many have none at all? Yep works. Love inertia.
And the kicker:
quote:
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) issued a cost estimate of the healthcare reform bill under consideration by the Senate Finance Committee, concluding it would increase federal spending by $829 billion over 10 years but be offset by enough spending cuts and tax increases to reduce the budget deficit by $81 billion.
The net number of legal U.S. residents without health insurance would reduce by 29 million over 10 years, the CBO further concluded.
Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus hailed the CBO score as "very good news" that confirms Democratic claims that the bill can expand coverage to 94 percent of Americans and lower the deficit at the same time. He said a final committee vote would be scheduled once he consults with committee members. Baucus also said he trusted the accuracy of the score since the CBO has had the legislation for several days and that the next step after a committee vote is to merge the bill with the version passed this summer by the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee.
Given that news, we may now be at a turning point:
quote:
I am told quite reliably that in a meeting today on Capitol Hill, Republican Senators began to rapidly move toward concessions on health care because they are afraid they cannot hold their members. Some Republicans are now thinking of supporting a government program.
Go to the action center and start calling.
Already, Senate Democrats are looking to pass healthcare by attaching it to unrelated legislation — the back door Brian Darling has repeatedly warned us about.
Now that there are some more substantial facts out there to point to, the plot thickens...

Not that I had to be told, but thank you for admitting your general lack of knowledge about the issues at hand. In the future, please refrain from posting about these things if you really don't know what the you're talking about.
As for that "single word" 'white', yes it's important. You made a comment that showed your ignorance and you were expecting to be taken seriously? Your post implied that it was ONLY white people who are ing insane by bringing their guns to town hall meetings, when one of the most FAMOUS incidents was that of a black man attending one of the events with a gun of his own. Whether or not you think it's insane, and I agree, I'd rather they sit peacefully with their gun displayed to make a political point than running around DT ghettos firing their handguns into the chests of fellow gang members, criminals, and innocent civilians to make off with a few hundred bucks to get them through next week. Wouldn't you agree?
