Two years later, this decision looks more retarded than ever. |
Yeah, he hasn't done anything to deserve it in the slightest. |

I didn't follow the news, but did Obama ever retreat any troops stationed abroad? |
He added 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, promised to close down Gitmo (But didn't), and promised to end the Iraq occupation by the end of this year (Although now it seems like they're trying to stay longer). |

Misleading facts are misleading. |

Please explain how they're misleading. I don't see how failing to close Guatanamo Bay can be misleading at all. You either close it, or leave it open, and it's still pretty open and operational. |

I'm talking about adding 30,000 troops to Afghanistan. You make it seem like he just added 30,000 new troops and sent them to Afghanistan, when in reality they've been scaling back occupation of Iraq and shifting focus to Afghanistan. Even still, http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...n-and-iraq.html. You can see there that since 2009 the occupying force in Iraq has been dramatically reduced by about 100,000, while the force in Afghanistan has been increased by about 50,000.
They have begun reducing the number of troops on the ground in both locations. And the "now it seems like they're trying to stay longer" is also misleading. The goal is to leave both countries. They're not trying to stay longer. They're trying to put together an achievable goal for a rate at which they can decrease the occupying force without destabilizing the countries' acting governments. |
