franco did a great job warming up the crowd for sasha and diggers.. a lot of his tracks went off very well...
sasha and digweed were good, i'd say the first 2 hours were the best, but the last hour was a little too trippy for me... diggers stole the show, I agree
lights were OK but I expected a little more from black and blue... lighting guy was weak too... we have top 10 djs and we can't even see them???
i agree DJ booth should have been on the same stage ELLAELLLAAAAAAA girl was on
friendly faces, good times, straight side, gay side, everyone just having fun
sasha & diggers suit that sort of party perfectly... extremely melodic sounds and chuggy bassline... props to sasha bringing in the tribal beat... the gays loved it!
and I still havent met spin laden... dude... wtf? Are you hiding from me? :p |

I was a bit underwhelmed by the whole event. Not to say I didn't have fun, it's just that I expected a bit more. It was my 1st BnB, I expected more decor and more people. The sound was ok, the lighting was meh. I expected a bit more on the production side of things.
The booth? Wtf? It was like something I could have found in my basement. And the positioning of it was terrible. S&D were good, I enjoyed them...left the second their set ended and headed to Stereo where another good party was brewing. |

For having been to many Black and Blue parties, this was definitely not the best set-up. Not a fan of where the DJ booth was. It did feel like a high school dance lol. The lighting meh. I dont think it helped create a mood at all. There was so much room to circulate in front of the DJ booth, and actually almost everywhere I would say, even in that supposedly gay mosh pit. Which also makes me think there was definitely less than 7000 people. It really didnt feel like a gay party at all: music wise, and crowd wise.
Definitely enjoyed Sasha and Digweed. But not wow. Got tired in the first half of Dave Seaman's set and went to sit down on those couches at the end of the room (good idea by the way). Tried really hard to stay for Lippé but couldn't do it. I'm just happy I got to dance (a lot) with good friends. I had a great time. Will probably go again next year just because I know Black and Blue have made better productions in the past. Probably just a bump on the road. |

lol funny story I was randomly hanging out in that Air Canada seating area by the stage just taking in the vibe and waiting for Sasha and Digweed to start. Plus I was feeling like . And then this guy sits beside me and introdces himself as the crazy russian from Ottawa, and then I realize its mtlrizzio. I laugh and then introduce myself as Mrs Haus. Honestly rizzo I think your eyes almost popped out of your head. The first thing he asks me is if Spin Laden is with me because he knew we were friends. I said yes he is, and shortly after Spin came by where I was to see how I was doing and I introduce him to mtlrizzo and things went off from there. Through rizzo we also met 84th Ave, and then I also introduce mtlrizzo to DJ Lift who was also with my group of friends...... small world moment.
So Spin Laden does exist, mtlrizzo and 84th Ave and vouch for this. And once I have a bit more time later today I will give my review for Black and Blue. Which for the most part was spectacular imo. |

| i am very very sorry to tell everyone but you all missed the best party in yeeears!! i dont remember the last time Danny Tenaglia RIPPED A ROOM APART like that!!! too long! @ the Guv in Toronto!!! Thank god i missed bnb this year! but im curious to see the room any youtube clips or photos up? |
