My brand spanking new TT's!

After 5 1/2 months of saving I finally got my decks in the mail last week on Wen. God damn UPS charged me GST/PST/Broakarage Fees/Brokarage Tax = $405 CAD! WTF! Only cause I ordered from the states!
I ended up spending something like $2500.00 (incl all those above charges) on my setup, but it was well worth it.
When they finally arrived after a huge dispute with those retards at UPS I was so excited! I think it was the biggest excitement in my life! When I opened up the box with the mixer I wanted it to have my babies! Same goes for my TT's!

I love my setup oh and I ordered some vinyl from www.only-djs.com it only took them 3 business days to deliver, even though I picked the cheapest way of delivery which was suposed to be 11 business days!

ok well here is my setup:

Stanton STR8-100's x 2
Vestax PCV-275
Stanton Groove Master II RM's x2
Sony MDRV-700DJ (I am thinking of getting something else I don't like these too much, too bulky and too much bass)

And an old y stereo, don't have the money for a nice amp and speakers, soon hopefully!

Now I am a happy camper with my equipment and my brand new collections of 49 vinyls!

Simply love it! Although I am still in debt for like $400 dollars I owe someone for letting me borrow money to pay off those s at UPS!

I am not posting this to show off but rather to tell ppl if you spend 5 mothns working your ass off and limiting yourself on spending this is what you can get out of it!

DAMN, niceness :) although I personally have a beef with ur V700s and your sound system setup, but it sounds like your future investments would cover those up :D

well to tell you the truth I don't like those v700's after testing them out for a couple of days they feel too bulky and the there is way too much bass, i am gonna get either a pair of Techincs or Sennehisers.

As for the sound system I am not a big expert in that just yet, so I have to take a look around. If you could help out with what I should go with let me know!

doesn't it just suck to live in Canada tho.. it always comes out to about 130% of the selling price when you import stuff cuz of GST, PST, duties, etc.. I've felt your pain several times, especially with UPS, and there isn't really any way around it  (I try to go across the border a lot of times to shop for lesser taxes, etc... but then going through customs is a bitch)

My opinion, go for the Senns :) Although, again, they're not readily available in Canada so you have to do some over-the-border shopping. Something affordable would probably be the Senn HD280 pros... I want to own a pair myself if I had the will to shell out the money :o

see the thing is I wanted to buy the decks in Canada originally but I could not find them anywhere here not even online Canadian shops thus I ordered off an American website. First I had to deal with www.pssl.com the worst service ever, never order off them. I had to go with www.DJdepot.com and it was all painless and easy except for the UPS part! I hate those morons, and than they lied to me that the tried to do a Second attempt for delivery and no on ever showed up and I waisted a day waiting by the front door! Well it's a long story, but yeah I hate dealin with UPS now!

I have a pair of those :D I mostly know a lot about portable headphones tho, I own like a dozen different pairs of them :D But, anyway, the 7506's are good, balanced bass (not excessive like the V700s) and really analytical with the high end of the audio spectrum (you can really notice this when listening to tunes with vocals). You can get the same type of model for cheaper, if you purchase the V6's (not the V600s). They sell for less because they are the "digital" version and not the "professional" version. But in actuality V6's = 7506's. The V6's aren't available in Canada, but can be imported again. Turns out with duties, taxes and like that it will come out for less than paying for the 7506's which are available in Canada.

Hope this helps (with your sound setup and your budget) :D
