n00b alert! |
I'm not a newb, I usually am just on NYTA. I'm kind of bored tonight. I also got sucked into this other EDM board with a lot of Jew hate so the guard is up. |

Bk= Brooklyn, there are plenty of tourists that know that. |
Typical insular American. I'm not a tourist. I'm a citizen of a country thousands of kilometres from your own, why should I be expected to know the conventions of yours?

It is a very busy city. Are you too slow to get that? People are rushing from one place to the other. |
There are other busy cities in the world. Are you too slow to get that? My city is a busy place too, and we don't treat people badly just because they're standing in our way.

You question what it is like when tourists are in your way when you're midtown trying to get from A to B. Go ahead, try to cross 5th and 50th like I had to yesterday. I am not going to be rude and shove people, there were tourists just standing like it is a ing park, looking up at something. |
What is it like when tourists are standing in your way? Oh my god, it's almost like when a tree is in your way, you have to shift half a step to the right! That must be awful, I feel so sorry for you!

I never said I wouldn't help someone if they had a question, I do it all the time. Your attitude is exactly the entitlement complex that all tourists have when they visit. This is a live working city, not ing Disney Land. |
The definition of irony: an American telling someone else they have an entitlement complex. Are you honestly saying that tourists wrongly feel are entitled to stand in the one spot and look at something? What's next, a moratorium on taking photos because the flash annoys New Yorkers walking past?
Every city in the world is a 'working' city, you ing moron. New York is not unique in any way, shape or form. Tokyo, London, Paris, Berlin and many other places are just as busy, and have just as many tourists. If you're a stereotypical example, New Yorkers just need to get their heads out of their arses and realise that there are more important things than rushing everywhere. |

Personally, I think that's house. How much time does it take to change direction because a tourist is in your way while they are admiring your city? Is it really that much of an issue, or are you so ing important that you can't spare one second of your day? |
Dude, didn't you know? New York is the center of the universe, and every New Yorker (especially the ones under 30) is the most intelligent, important, and sophisticated person in the world. Why should they spare any of their time, which is infinitely more valuable than yours, to deal with rubes gawking at the big buildings? |

I am. I hate them. I wish they would all die in a fire and get their gigantic noses and money grabbing hands burnt off. |

How do you think NYers feel when you're standing in the middle of the block because you're looking up at some building and obstructing our way to get somewhere? |
Lol |

I live by the Verazzano. There is no way I am driving to Jamaica Queens station if I can drive 5 more mins to go to the airport myself.
JFK for me is 25min w/out traffic. :D |

I don't care if I'm coined a typical NYer, I would rather be from here than anywhere else. I have news for you, when you're here, you're a tourist, it doesn't matter where you're from.
I don't treat people badly when they're in my way but good idea, next time I'll kick them in the shins.
You are the ing moron if you think you're right about how tourists behave when they are here. You clearly don't have a clue because if you did, your comments would be very different. I have been to the places you mentioned and many tourists behave differently. The gripe is with American tourists mostly. Stay the on your side of the pond until you get a clue.

That is good to know. The other board has a bit of a war going on about it. |

I forgot about where you live. You mentioned the bus to JFK and that can take forever in traffic. Did you hear about the lady yesterday near you? She was driving near the water and drove into the river. A guy pulling his boat pulled her and her daughters out. |
