there should be no such thing. even battle ground. Why do people feel they have to get married by a certain age???

date, see other people, swap diseases <-- this is how life should be.

marriage is a true cockblock for everything even friendships.
It's even a cockblock for your own boys. "lets go out, get tipsy have a night out!"
"can't got to take the wife shopping tommorrow morning"

all bachelors for life in here say aye!

aye!

New friends, you need some :p

AYE high five

and it's the media's (look at disney) fault for brainwashing little girls with hope of this grand mindblowing wedding and then happy ever after.

that's why you see stories about "bridezillas" going nuts when everything isnt just the way they envisioned and replayed it in their heads since they were young.

This is true. Not necessarily Disney though, just society's fault in general for making marriage seem like more than it is.

This, however, is complete . I laugh at the guys in relationships who get in trouble for going out with their friends. If you act like there is something to feel guilty about by not remembering an anniversary, going out with friends or buying yourself something with your own money, then your partner is going to pick up on it and make it an issue. However, if you do things unashamedly and show that there is no problem, you will be able to 'get away' with things like that and lead a much less restricted life. Guys who bitch about being whipped are usually whipped of their own accord, though there are exceptions.

I told my girlfriend that I don't believe in valentine's day, that she's not getting all and that if she doesn't like it she can break up with me. I buy her flowers and take her out to dinner regularly throughout the year, why should I be forced to do it on an overpriced day when some jerk-off on television says I should?

In contrast, all my friends cower at the demands of their women on valentine's day because they're afraid of being in the bad books. Rejecting like this has nothing to do with a 'power struggle' or 'laying down the law', it's just about clearing out the guilt-tripping bull and blackmailing in a relationship.

This is one of the most stupid things I have ever seen. There are plenty of people who make the decision to marry. My husband is pretty mature and secure, if he didn't want to be married, he wouldn't have asked me. I didn't corner him or force it on him, I was content with being a couple without the ring. If you find the right person to be with and you are happy, there is nothing wrong with being married.

Your post sounds like an excuse for a sausage fest.
