I can say from personal experience that this is wrong as a factual matter. I've created plenty of internet personae that make jay look downright g-rated, but my brain is hardly filled with those kinds of thoughts the rest of the time. Instead, they're neatly filed away in some isolated subdirectory of my brain under "things that greatly inflame the irrational passions of morons." |

exactly its pretty in easy to get someone going. you touch a nerve and keep expanding it until a) you either get banned or b) you really piss someone off and they have an online meltdown.

As cliche as it is, the phrase "it's just the internet" applies tremendously here.
I'm not trying to defend Jay, but it's nearly impossible to accurately evaluate someone's character online, much less make claims about them having personal issues or problems.
I've had to read books and articles about this topic for several different classes as it applies to my major. The conclusion is usually always the same; an online environment tends to shift (either minutely or largely) how a person acts. Some people act out, intensely (trolling, griefing, yadda yadda), others tend to not change all that much. Just because someone is acting a certain way on the internet doesn't automatically indicate they have some deep seated personal issue, it's just human nature in an anonymous environment without any direct contact. |

I'm not asking for half the ing story, I'm asking you for an actual ing quotation, citation or even just a name of some psychological condition you've read in one of your much-lauded books that gives your analysis any credence whatsoever.
