yea we definitely are the land of opportunity with very few people taking advantage of it lol foreigners take more advantage of the opportunity here than americans.

When it comes to a master's degree though..I think it's more important to find a school that offers courses that meet your interests. Not all programs focus on the same learning outcomes. Some of the best unis here offer really master's programs (well, they don't appeal to me, at any rate :p).

how did this thread go from Jay's grandparents making lamp shades outta the new whore's grandparents to a cross-jurisdictional comparison of educational requirements/options for nurses?

It is. And FIU now has a medical school :D I'd really love to go to Barry. Maybe I should move closer to where it is lol.

yea and a law school as well. i was considering it back when i was taking classes at BCC and wanting to go all the way through with a BA and law school. i was pretty much considering FIU for both.

If you could bring me a beer to go with that sammich that would be nice.

Because we have idiots making the decisions.

Again, I'm inclined to believe it comes down to money. Research has clearly shown a strong link between better patient outcomes and practitioners with more education. But obviously it costs more money to employ and retain those people.

That's why you never see PSWs (personal support workers) or any other unlicensed worker in a hospital (up here at least :p)...because it's been proven that the mortality rate is higher with them in the workplace. Isn't that horrible? Lol.
