If they play every week, how come they are not closing out on Nov.7th for Jon Askew night? Has their manager I think I should start letting them play every week. What do you think Appeattack? Like how Dj Hendo used to open every week for all headliner.:haha: :haha:

BY THE WAY, LOOK AT DEC.5TH, THEY ARE ALSO OPENING FOR MARKUS & EDDIE HALLIWELL. AINT THAT SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh, they might not play every week but one thing you have to worry about is overexposure.

Everyone thinks they are immune to it, but they aren't. If they are directly involved with the night, it's one thing. But as being regular supporting DJs, if a DJ is constantly being booked, while I'm sure the DJ is more than happy, the DJ is also usually blind to the fact that they can be overexposed and happens w/o them even realizing it.

Not gonna say much more than that. I mention it everyone once in awhile (maybe two or three times in my time here on TA in the last six-seven years) when I personally see it and everyone defends those DJs or whatever.

And I won't mention any DJ names (cause I know they read this board, for a fact!) or anything, but every time those DJs burn out with the local scene within a couple years and bookings become sporadic or uneventful (ie. people don't excited for the opener). Hell, I can recall one DJ from LA who everyone thought would become big and all but by the time that one DJ had a chance to explode, the DJ was burnt out locally and the DJ pops up every once in awhile opening for certain acts and all.

Plus, you keep booking a DJ and you end up with a lot of repetitive sets after awhile. A DJ can have a huge bin of tracks, but he or she just about always largely focuses in on the same core group of tracks in the end and trickle in new tracks as they get it, but still after you hear them a bunch you will start seeing a lot of repetition in their sets. New, fresh DJs to the club-circuit sound new for awhile until that repetition starts because they are playing more often and in the end not many quality tracks come out vs. how often they play.

Anyhow, only thing I'm gonna say on this. I have never heard N&R live, but I'm not speaking about them in particular. This goes for any act out there in general. But if they keep being booked as often as they are, wouldn't be amazed if that happens. Hell, I'm seeing them play more often than residents typically play when it comes to serious, large clubs with a serious, high quality promoter who cares about the whole experience of clubbing.

Thank you, good night.

Thank you Dave T as always for your comments. If they are resident dj's would that be ok? Or is it still be too over expose?

Haha... why not the whole night? And during the week too. If they get tired, break out the whip.

I agree with Dave T. and it doesn't matter if they're resident DJs. You may think that you're doing them a favor but in the long run... over exposure! Spread out the booking dates! There's plenty of other DJs that can be given the chance to play. Just make sure they have a nice following. ;)

I like this thread. Johnny threatening to shove even more N&R down our throats on a weekly basis, negative Dave T throwing his usual $.01 around like anybody considers it valuable. Any thread with a DJ who calls himself Sweetnuts is a winner. Thats almost as good as the flyer I saw with DJ Dusty MCshroomface on it.

Is it me, or have the circus threads owned the West Coast boards the past couple of months.

with the exception of the random 72hourGAYanimal threads asking the same dumb questions like "what did you like about the music this year TA's?" or "what tv shows are you watching every night?" Cause we all know you arent watching the sports you always talk about (lakers, dodgers, angels, raiders) but instead are stuck watching project runway or The Hills with Gina. (we know who wears the pants and holds the remote in that relationship)

:wtf: :wtf: :tongue2 :tongue2

Josh's gonna get a ball socking the next time i see him :whip:

you love my threads... especially the ones about Laker hating. The Circus threads always own cuz there are like 15 of them and everyone keeps chatting, debating, complaining, blahblahblah (not a bad thing at all). entertains the hell out of me.

I'm still waiting to see if LMD gonna get me a bottle of patron this weekend :D

yes I do, especially when they go on to win the championship. Hopefully you will start another one soon, and we can keep it afloat all the way to the back 2 back parade in June:D
