How To Dj With Armin Van Buuren (pg. 8)

As much as it may shock, pointPi has a, er, point. When it comes to those Tiesto In Concert or Armin Only gigs, exactly what purpose does a DJ serve there? Everything's pre-planned so all the visuals and guest lip-syncers and parading elephants (just you wait!) goes off without a hitch. All they have to do is hit Play and prance around singing "Dut Dut Dut!" throughout the whole show, and no one would know the difference.

I actually know a lot of nice people on the internet, and for the most part I'm actually pretty nice and relaxed as well (if I say so myself), but when someone is going on and on about something they don't know anything about or is just being generally ignorant or stupid, it's ing annoying.

People want to see the face behind the productions and the mix, if you had an ipod lined up with songs Tiesto plays at one venue and Tiesto himself at another people would go to the one with the person.

Ah yes, the ol' Cult Of Personality factor.

P.S. Noticed that I always put "trance" in quotes?

Thanks for that very pertinent piece of information. I was dying to know if you'd noticed or not! Sure am glad we got that out of the way. :gsmile:

I wish Armin van Buuren and his colleagues start labeling his music as "insert EDM style" to avoid this kind of bashing...

Hey, I'm just to say my point of view. Besides, this is "trance"-addict, not club life addict (Probably, this is something I'll regret a few years later, that I said).
Also, as an off-topic side note, I've got Aspberger's Syndrome, so I might have a hard time understanding if you're ironic or not.

P.S. Noticed that I always put "trance" in quotes?

And having Asperger's is actually the reason that you'd like to see DJs gone.

Haven't seen the vid, as i'm no DJ, but i suppose it's good if people who saw it are quite enthousiastic about it.
No probs with hating on Armin, but when he does perform, he performs.

The second song he mixes into is actually Bobina - Invisible Touch (I think the Ferry Corsten remix)

What mixer and cd turntables is he using?

Constructive answer: Armin tells you that in the video.

Destructive answer:
