I am really glad I went
Arrived just afternoon to join my friends for silly times in the silver dollar.
Went downstairs around 1 to try and have fun... but the Junkies were not right for me. Very boring hard to dance to tunes. Having a brutal hang over head ache made it worse. Stuck around for three tracks and returned to light.
We all headed down to paco to be disappointed quickly. His beginning tracks were horrible and repetitive and the skipping did not help either. But he made up for it quickly. Had lots of fun. Got crazy hot. Really fun vibe. Silly dancing. Played Beep Beep Beep - Tiga (loco dice mix) which was wicked.
I was expecting something more dark and evil but in the end I was very happy and had a blast with my friends. |

let's see here. had a hallowe'en party at my house which turned out to be excellent. thanks to v-vaughn and her EX-lurker for showing up ;) curse all the others for not coming and missing pure 90s bliss. after the party slowed down we chilled out in my comfort basement with geoffb3 & sugar_sparkles... counting down the minutes till CZ time :D
got to zone around 615 to a pretty large lineup with absolutely no organization. it was just a huge bottleneck in front of the door and security yelling at everyone to lineup against the wall (to little cooperation). Got in a little after 7. Deko-ze was on with solid beats but the set didn't seem to be going anywhere. I knew it was time to leave when my eyes kept shutting uncontrollably.
... only ended getting about an hour sleep after about 2-3 hours of lying in bed and it hit me.. I should go back to zone before work and get to see an hour of Paco: a possibility I thought was lost when I saw the set times. Only problem was I had already ripped off my CZ wristband. Do I a) try to tape it back together so I can get in for free... or b) bring it with me and try to jog the cover charge girl's memory that I had been there already because she made a comment on my halloween costume. After much deliberation I went with c) go to zone without the wristband and pay the cover again. 3.5 hours of zone is worth $50 right? It is on Halloween!
Returned to CZurch at 230. The surprised faces/reactions when I came back was TOTALLY worth not texting anyone with my brilliant idea to squeeze in a little more CZ before responsibilities took over. The junkies were dropping some smooth beats that had me dancing as soon as I walked in. It was really good warm-up music for what was about to come. Paco came on a little after 3 and I was really liking his selections. The skipping was totally killing my vibe though :( 1-2 times I could handle.. but 5 times in an hour? I was so sad I had to leave at 4. It's damn near impossible to leave when so many good friends are still in attendance. zone is the same without you guys - you know who you are :)
The extra $25 spent to be there for Jill's 1st time was worth every penny. I wish I was there for when you initially arrived!!
