Lot of mental health stuff is just bs trying to catagorize people who don't fall in line with expected social norms. Suddently they have mental health issues because they don't respond the way the doctors want them to. I'd say in a minority of cases are people actually far gone / insane etc.. and BPD isn't one of those things, except in times where there may have suicidal thoughts. The person being medicated though likely is quite mentally regulated. If they are on antidepresants they should be "relatively ameanable". If they are on antipsychotics chances are they are some what sedated. No risk. |
Uh, no. I've worked with many people with BPD, and their issues extend far beyond simple mood disorders. Medication isn't enough for these people. And they aren't truly suicidal. Repeated threatened attempts are just ways they manipulate people for attention. People who really want to kill themselves just do it. They don't talk about it or tell people.
People who self-harm are typical examples of BPD. |
